not your mom's socks.

did you want to come over for some Bluegrass music? The band is playing. I think we're eating tamales.

I'll be right over...

Librarian Warlord

I will send you details, Kat. As for you, Sox, you know where G lives . . .

K will be wearing her "I love the mandolin player" t-shirt.

information libertarian

While my experience of K suggests she can successfully boss most people around, I do wonder how she would fare against the combined strength of the twins. Truly, it would be a contest for the ages.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

"Likewise, we all know from experience that Internet message boards aren’t Borg-like mind-melding machines that multiply users’ brain power."

Aside from this one obviously idiotic statement, the choice between "collective consciousness" and "100% independent actors" for describing the actions of large social groups is clearly a false dichotomy. The fact that we are not bees does not imply that we are completely asocial.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Heading to the airport soon to go to Florida, where my Internet access will be limited. See you on the 25th!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was disappointed in how little snow we got last night.

Also, happy Winter Solstice for those who hangout in the Northern Hemisphere.

Also, is bt around? It's 12/22 there--what's it like after the end of the world?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I see what you did there, brenda.

I brought some TJ's iced gingerbread men to the office today.

Why do I have to work? Sigh.

But at least it's Friday and I'm in jeans. I get to dogsit this weekend while my sister's family goes skiing: but at least we're down to only about 110 lbs of dog now. And I can stay in my own house, although if the Demon Golden Retriever eats any of my shoes, I will be Very Upset.

Compassionately intolerant

"If only Nancy Lanza had guns then she could protected herself!" So I'm sort of a bad person too.

This has been my response, actually.

On fb, there is a great quote, "If a pre-schooler hits another child with a rock, the answer is NOT that all pre-schoolers should have rocks."

It's tragic that simple logic does not win.

Happy travels, Sparky!

I wasn't playing the game, but I have not heard LDB at all yet this year. I think that may be a result of hermiting and listing to HPotter books instead of the radio. Still, unsullied.
