Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ahhh!

So my luggage is in Miami, which is okay, I guess, since it's not lost. It's just elsewhere. And they intend it to be here around noon tomorrow, and in the meanwhile my mother is gleefully making me wear cherry PJs. I've not told her Kat has made me done the same, but less pinkly. A lot less pinkly. I like pink, and cherries, but I don't actually tend o associate them.

My parents hired some guy who fucked up the last revamp I did of their network. No doubt (and I should thank them for it) they were trying not to harass me, but last year I extended their wireless network pretty seamlessly by installing two repeaters and reformatting them to run a better OS. Apparently he was impressed, and then promptly worked around it. As far as I can tell, for instance, the original wireless modem is still here, and on, and not attached to anything. Just being lonely, all by itself on a sad network.

And my seamless wireless is gone--most notably in the room I'm sleeping in.

Did I mention pink and cherries?

My kingdom for a network cable and a system password,

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I also wish I'd met up with Liese, but as it was, it ended up REALLY close due to getting stuck behind stupid people and people with Issues. I didn't even get to eat. And the flight attendant made my drinks really strong, um wow.

Yeah. With the weather craziness elsewhere, the All The Airports were more fraught than normal. But it's okay. With your folks, we've got better odds that most east coasters of getting together at some point.

My flight had two infants and three dogs (two under my seat and the guy next to me, and one behind them). It took an extra half hour to leave because they routed us around the storm at the last minute and had to add fuel. Which was fairly important, I feel.

But considering all that, it went reasonably well, and I got in about 20 minutes late, and made it to the hotel, where I immediately had to do counseling with a student on facebook whose parents are splitting up (and told her the day before finals, bad timing, parents). Phoenix was all full of sad stuck people.

Anyway, it's one, but my body thinks it's three, so I guess I better crash out.

Says who, indeed? I am now suspicious of her research.

Last day of work before vacation! LAistas, I will be in Culver City the 27th through the 3rd. I think we'll spend a day in Legoland.

I am bothered by the fact that the National Cathedral is ringing the bell 26 times today instead of 27. Leaving Nancy Lanza out of it is very blame the victim to me.

Agreed Sparky. Though, I do have to snarkily refrain myself from saying to all of the people who think a gun = protection, "If only Nancy Lanza had guns then she could protected herself!" So I'm sort of a bad person too.

I'd love to see you while you're here, if possible. If not, that's okay too. Things are crazyballs (at least today) so I'd understand if not.

I'm also really tempted to take Noah to a place with arcade and video games. It's almost (ALMOST) irresistible. Not Chuck E Cheese, but maybe Dave and Busters?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I still haven't heard LDB this season. I'm feeling a bit left out.

I don't know why I haven't RickRolled you all with LDB. (Would that be a Little Drummer BoyRoll?)

They aren't? But...It's what I was counting on!

My DH loves Dave and Busters (it's part of his childhood in Dallas) so I know he'd love to do that. Other than Legoland one day, and a party at my sisters' on Friday (did you want to come over for some Bluegrass music? The band is playing. I think we're eating tamales.) we have no plans. K would love to try and boss your kids around.

DH also got a $20 bill with the words "GUN OWNER" stamped on in it big red letters. The people at the meetings in Vienna were taking their pictures with it (they were meeting about the Arms Trade Treaty).

I just looked.... the only Dave and Busters is in Arcadia (near Pasadena) and Irvine. Hmmmm...I thought there might be one near Culver City, but I was wrong.

mmmmm... tamales! and music! that all sounds fun.

Okay, I should get OFF the internet and go shower and make a twin shower then get us. UGH. Also Time Machine wants to back up.
