Thanks, everyone. I'm home. With wine. It was super easy and fast, there wasn't even anyone in the waiting room when I came in (just by luck -- only one vet in today, and the previous appointment was quick), and he was dead before she was even done with the injection. I'm sad, and am taking a moment before I start doing a shitload of laundry.

Aw, Homer. I'm glad it was an easy passing, Jesse, and I'll be thinking of you.
Aw. Sad, Jesse. But yay wine?
Kat, I want to go to the cake store!! Man.
You were good to Homer. And he was well loved. Take all of the moments that you need right now. I'm sorry that we have to say goodbye to our pets so quickly.
Good old Homer. He had a good end, and a great life with you before that.
I'm glad it was an easy passing, Jesse. Goodbye, Homer.
All sympathies, Jesse. It's a hard decision to make, but sometimes it's the best decision.
It was definitely the right time. I'm glad I waited this long, but not longer.
Awww, Jesse. I'm sorry, and I'm glad that you feel it was the right time. You gave him a good life.
So, what was the worst was that workmen came into my apartment like 10 minutes before we were leaving to install a new smoke detector. And one was a cat lover! So he was petting Homer, and all, "I've never seen such a calm cat." I was like, yeah, because he's going to die in an hour. So of course I started crying. And now the nice, cute building management guy with them has only seen me at my absolute worst -- the other time was when I was home sick. So that's fun.
