Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You were good to Homer. And he was well loved. Take all of the moments that you need right now. I'm sorry that we have to say goodbye to our pets so quickly.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Good old Homer. He had a good end, and a great life with you before that.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm glad it was an easy passing, Jesse. Goodbye, Homer.

Ann, that's a ferret.

All sympathies, Jesse. It's a hard decision to make, but sometimes it's the best decision.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It was definitely the right time. I'm glad I waited this long, but not longer.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Awww, Jesse. I'm sorry, and I'm glad that you feel it was the right time. You gave him a good life.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, what was the worst was that workmen came into my apartment like 10 minutes before we were leaving to install a new smoke detector. And one was a cat lover! So he was petting Homer, and all, "I've never seen such a calm cat." I was like, yeah, because he's going to die in an hour. So of course I started crying. And now the nice, cute building management guy with them has only seen me at my absolute worst -- the other time was when I was home sick. So that's fun.

Because books.

Oh, Jesse. That's not fair. It does sound like you chose the right time to do it, though. I'm glad it was so peaceful for him.

Treat yourself to a cupcake?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe he'll be your Galahad, Jesse? Save you from the monsters?

Nah, I got nothing. But you've got wine! So that's a start.

I just ordered in lunch, and the woman on the other end of the line not so good with hearing what I was saying. The third time she had me repeat my credit card number, she only took 12 digits, and then moved on to the expiration date, and would not let me correct her. Given it took her five times to get the phone number, I had no confidence about which 12 digits she thought she had.

Then she put the phone down and walked away, so I hung up and called back, and thankfully got someone different. Order was placed in one shot, weirdly.

Trust my rage

When we had Toby put to sleep last month, I was really surprised at how sad I was. Like, I knew it was the right thing to do, but it still made me cry.
