Yeah, there is a safety freak at our school who was worried about local drug users entering the school (we live in a really wealthy neighborhood - I am sure there are local drug users, but suspect they are mostly doing cocaine and driving their BMWs around). I told her parents were the most dangerous people at any school. I am avoiding her at pickup today for sure. Actually, she has probably gone and pulled her kid out of school early.

I wonder if they'll change the set-up at Matilda's school. It's very open and that is a big part of why it sort of flows with the community. Would hate to lose that.
A body was found inside the home of the shooter, possibly his mother.
I wonder if she tried to stop him?
Now CBS is saying that the shooter was not a parent.
Shooter's name was Ryan Lanza, age 20.
What's confusing to me is that they're giving the number of people dead, but saying a whole classroom is unaccounted for. Does that mean we're looking possibly twenty more dead?
Now they're saying he's 24 and lived in Hoboken, but had grown up in the community.
I saw one report saying he was a student-teacher.
correction:
Looks like he killed his mom before he went on his spree.
Looks like his mom worked at the school and was killed there. That may be his connection with the school.
He's dead now, so we can't interrogate him, though I guess something will come out.
...I think there's not much point in speculating or reporting about every possible rumor. News organizations these days report every last hint of a detail and half of it turns out wrong. Like in Portland the other day, when it was all "OMG, two shooters! Body armor! Dozens dead!" and it was one guy, no body armor, and two (besides him)...but there were fluctuating rumors for hours.
When the reports were saying the shooter was only 20 I figured too young to be a parent. And I guess only one shooter, not 2? But 4 weapons found on the scene?
What's confusing to me is that they're giving the number of people dead, but saying a whole classroom is unaccounted for. Does that mean we're looking possibly twenty more dead?
That's been confusing to me too, and I so hope there aren't more dead. I know I shouldn't picture what if it were my kids, but it's so hard not to do it.
Heard on Facebook from a friend in CT that his mom was a kindergarten teacher there. Andy Carvin from NPR posted on Twitter that CBS said that he may have killed his father in NJ first before heading to CT.
This feels like a game of horror telephone.
