Because books.

I like Little Drummer Boy. And most Christmas music, actually. I'll listen to it all for everyone else?

I may have to seize the cat.

Hi Buffistas! How are you guys? I'm doing quite well. I thought I wasn't going to have anything to say here in Natter because my job is awesome but then this thing happened... We have a new tech support guy and upon learning that my job title is managing editor, he decided to show me websites for his two start-ups, for which he needs some editorial work done... for no money... Awkward... I think this is his second day. It was our first meeting.

But other than that, life is keen! I like LDB so I don't mind losing that game, but I could do without "Santa, Baby." Maybe I'll get "Teach Me to Understand Christmas" from Community and just play it every time I hear "Santa Baby" start...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, thank goodness I mostly work with the nice people now. I went to apologize in person for the clusterfuck of the last couple of days, and the person in charge could not have been nicer about it. Of course I knew in real life that it was a bunch of things leading to the problems, but always expect to shoulder all blame. PHEW!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am stuck sitting next to my husband while he and his father rewrite his counter offer email. He is very wordy and I am late for work.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Hi, Kiba!

I haven't heard "Little Drummer Boy" or much other Christmas music this year. Except, for some reason, Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You." Which, if you gotta hear one Christmas song over and over, is probably a better than average choice.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's the one I currently have in my head, and it's all good.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

I love that song.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I spoke too soon. Now on my radio -- Alexander O'Neal's version of "The Little Drummer Boy." Yes, the beat is '80s funk-lite.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My secret to not hearing LDB is never listening to the radio, except for public radio and satellite radio.

And, um, not doing any brick-and-mortar x-mas shopping.
