Cass, it was at Trader Joes. I also heard Closer to Fine at CVS. Fuck, we are old enough for musak.
That actually freaks me out more than when I heard something from U2 on a "classic rock" station (nearly 20 years ago). I can accept the classic label but musak? I am not that strong. Or old. I can't be that old, right?
I actually think it's a nifty feature
First off, I'm having luddite hesitance, because I don't know what the principle is to be able to accept any realistic latitudes and end up with hi res pictures. So I need to do my research to get over that.
Secondly? I ONLY WANT REAL PICTURES. This means the (IT'S ON MY TV RIGHT NOW) Vogueists have won.
Man, I haven't cracked open my SLRs for years. Reformatting memory cards, charging battery, wondering why I have all these lenses and why I can't leave any behind...looking at this huge-assed second hand flash I bought with no instructions that's just not going to get to come out to play.
And then I have to talk myself out of at least one digital device. If I had sense, I could make do with two, but the sense thing goes without saying.
I am winning at LDB too. but I have done NO Christmas shopping. Not a card, not a gift, not a mall.
I bought half my moms present today. A gift card to use with her nook, and a book to stick it in. Went back and forth on what book to get her--she likes mysteries, and Oprah-type books, and memoirs, I think? But I'm not sure what she's read. I ended up buying her "Fault in Our Stars", figuring its at least set on her side of town, which is kinda cool. Even if she's not into the young adult part. Gift receipts.
But other than one other gift I bought, and one I ordered, I have nothing. I went over who I need/want to buy for, and have no idea what I'm getting my roommate, siblings, brother in law, or father.
Or whether I need to or should buy something for the girl I've been seeing. It seems like a small token present would be appropriate but I have no idea what! Maybe a Seattle guide, she's new to town...
Speaking of caards--in packing my other carry on, I found a Saks $25 off purchases of $150 or higher card. Why didn't I know this earlier, when I was SHOPPING or something?
Though...if I was going to buy something from Saks, they have at least one of the pretty Chantelle bras that fit me, and there's no way I rotate these puppies (not the sweater puppies--they're rotated exactly sufficiently) enough...
Sufjan Stevens has put out an alternative to the typical holiday music. 58 songs of alternative.
Matt, that sucks. I'm sorry your vacation is getting hosed.
I'm winning LDB but losing big time on "Mele Kalikimaka." It's not a good trade.
I like Little Drummer Boy. And most Christmas music, actually. I'll listen to it all for everyone else?
