What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I heard it right away, but played by one of my favorite bands live, and although I dislike the song in general, it was a great version. With lots of drums. Including a taiko drum.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm still winning, but most of my shopping has been online. Online shopping fortunately has no soundtrack.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I think I've stayed ahead of LDB so far, but it may be because stations in my area are mainlining "Holly Jolly Christmas" instead.

I find this is true here too. I wonder why.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Aw, browser crash ate my post.

I wish you could come shopping with me, Kat. The pair I bought the other day fit wrong--I thought they'd relax into me, but no. I bend, the waistband plummets. There's no give in the rise. And tucking shirts in is a no go. The style I think we bought together is only available online, and not in my size--depending on what that is. Do I get the 6 that I'm wearing in 2 6 year old jeans? Or go with another pair of safety 8s? And they only have longs.

I haven't heard Live Aid yet. I'll have to do that deliberately tomorrow.

Oh, right. I need to drop off a UPS package tomorrow. I was gonna say Kinkos should be good for that, and then I went to correct to their new name and...right. I'll look something up.

That Samsung ad where you get to pick the heads of your photo subjects is CREEPY. Take the head you get! Don't get all newfangled on me.

Shit, I need to start packing, right? Order a shuttle? You'd think I never travelled for how startled I manage to be every fucking time.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I'm winning the LDB game, but it happens to be a favorite Xmas tune, so I don't really want to win this one. Oh well, if I get into the mood there must be a million versions on youtube. Also thanks to Ginger for turning me on to "The Bitter Withy". Never heard it before. The tune is pleasant and psychopath Jesus amuses me. This Jackie Oates and Saul Rose is good a cover, though it takes a bit of time to get to the song.

[edit] Probably would help if I included the link: [link]

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I cannot believe he is Norah Jones' dad.

I used to know that but somehow I forgot so I was surprised by that too.

I am so tired I can't really function, and yet still I keep having things to do. The kids have 3 holiday performances at school, one today, two tomorrow. Isaac got his pants dirty, plus then he stepped into the tub while still wearing them. Nice.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The "automagically" one? I actually think it's a nifty feature, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to master it. Or need it. Or remember I had it if I did need it. But that it exists is nifty.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Cass, it was at Trader Joes. I also heard Closer to Fine at CVS. Fuck, we are old enough for musak.

That actually freaks me out more than when I heard something from U2 on a "classic rock" station (nearly 20 years ago). I can accept the classic label but musak? I am not that strong. Or old. I can't be that old, right?

I actually think it's a nifty feature

First off, I'm having luddite hesitance, because I don't know what the principle is to be able to accept any realistic latitudes and end up with hi res pictures. So I need to do my research to get over that.

Secondly? I ONLY WANT REAL PICTURES. This means the (IT'S ON MY TV RIGHT NOW) Vogueists have won.

Man, I haven't cracked open my SLRs for years. Reformatting memory cards, charging battery, wondering why I have all these lenses and why I can't leave any behind...looking at this huge-assed second hand flash I bought with no instructions that's just not going to get to come out to play.

And then I have to talk myself out of at least one digital device. If I had sense, I could make do with two, but the sense thing goes without saying.
