Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Welcome to the Black Parade

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

My last song was Starsailor's "Four To The Floor". I... don't think I want to know how that gets turned into a sex move.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Wait, BOTH tumblr and LJ are down? Not cool, interwebs, not cool.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Uh-oh, mine was "Blue Christmas."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I... don't think I want to know how that gets turned into a sex move.

This is a gimme!

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My last song (in my head as an earworm) was Sun Hands by the Local Natives. So I guess my sex move is a hand job outdoors on a sunny day?

Boss is bitter about being cut off at the knees regarding certain projects she considers her purview, and so she's exerting her controll-freakness on me, up including wanting to control my thoughts, it seems. It's been over a year, and I still don't know where I stand with her. Am I the source of wisdom she leans on, since I've been here for almost 5 years, almost on my own? Am I the one she wants to ask how high? Does she want me to use my own initiative when she leaves me without direction? The thing is, it changes depending on the day. I survived a cunt of an ED, and yet I think it is my new boss, whom I like and respect 75% of the time, that may send me packing. Sometimes it's worse when your adversary isn't evil and stupid. Sometimes it's worse when they're awesome and you just have a severe personality conflict and they're feeling emasculated (which, by the by, I need to find a different word for when referring to a woman).

Also, speaking of annoying sexist comments-- back in the day I used to get the "so domestic" snark when my old boss saw me sweeping or washing dishes at work. Now our new ED is throwing out comments like "so girly" about my boss baking. I don't know if that's a man thing or a really thoughtless gay thing, like maybe all the women he knows are hardcore feminists who make the men do the cooking. Or maybe it's him reacting to the fact that she and I are the (excuse me) MEN of the workforce, in that we are the ones to do the heavy lifting, taking out the garbage, shoveling the sidewalks, or anything that is remotely dirty or physical.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

We (faculty and staff) were just sent an email from HR with the subject line "Sexual Harassment time."

Um, I know that periodic training in sexual harassment guidelines can be a PITA, but is this really the most appropriate subject line for an email?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Hey, at least it's better than all emails being titled "Fred" because the ED doesn't believe in subject headers.

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

The last song I listened to was, I ashamed to admit, by One Direction.

I have no excuse for this.

Tumblr being down makes me sad.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Oh, and the HR person put every staff and faculty member's email address in the To: line.
