Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

Probably Branagh does too. Maybe Emma Thompson couldn't stand it anymore...

I saw them act in King Lear years ago and I knew after that performance that it would never last. She was so much more talented than he was, and I was sure he wouldn't be able to deal.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I like the trail mix with bana chips and chocolate - ooh, my shopping list will know the name! Monkey Business Trek Mix. Yum.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Thank you all! I forgot that I gave myself a birthday gift in that my dog has a vet appointment at 4, so I get to leave the office early for that. Woot.

Still better than driving my mother to her psychiatrist appointment...

Kinda blue that I won't be participating in any of the secret Santa round robins this year, but the unexpected $4,000 Christmas gift to my mom has curtailed the scope of my other gift giving.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

One factor is that everyone gives sweets at Christmas, so things like pretzels and cheese crackers are appreciated.

I don't know if there's an answer to this, but I thought I'd throw this out to the hivemind. My mother has a CD/radio/cassette player, i.e. an ancient boombox, that she likes, but she wants a new one because the old one has tiny buttons and her sight is almost gone. As far as I can google, there isn't such a thing. Maybe there's a children's version that can work? It's all complicated by the fact that my mother and sister are Luddites.

Aww, my sister sent me flowers at work! Of course, the delivery guy couldn't get into the building, so I had to go down, and there's no card, but they're lovely. It's been a long time since I got flowers from anyone.

Ginger, the Amazon keyword combo you want is portable radio cassette cd. There's this, for example: [link]
