Karma is a cat, sleeping in my lap cuz it loves me. ~TS

Our office Yankee Swap on Thursday included a jar with two dead leeches. True story. The person who stole them is going to take them back to the store because apparently they were supposed to be alive.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jessica posted the recipe a few days ago. It is very yummy, with an excellent texture.

Ooh, and you make it with bought eggnog? That might be just the excuse I was looking for to buy eggnog! Also, I was trying to decide what to bring to our office party.

That's fantastic.

Because books.

Is today your birthday, Consuela? Many happy returns!

Where on earth do you buy leeches?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have the admin lunch and exchange tomorrow. We are only supposed to spend $10-$15 and I have a newish hire. I was thinking maybe a plant for her desk and/or a nice re-usable water glass.

Now that you mention it, I have no idea. I'll email the guy who brought them and find out!

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Ooh, and you make it with bought eggnog?

Yes, although it only uses 1/2 cup. You need to get the full-fat kind. I made the glaze with rum, because eggnog always needs rum.

Thank you! I share it with Emily Dickinson, Ada Lovelace, and Kenneth Branagh, apparently.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ok, so if anyone at my department's white elephant tomorrow complains about getting Star Wars pancake molds (and seriously, WHO WOULD) I can now say to them "At least they are not dead leeches."

I made the eggnog cake with no glaze over the weekend and it was delish. For the office bake-off though, it will have a rum glaze.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Where on earth do you buy leeches?

Bait shops.
