We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Going to a dog show out in the hinterlands today; hoping to hit a winery on the way home. At the very least it will be a pretty drive, and it means my sister & I are off parental duty today.

Speaking of which: no melt-down last night, or at least no phone calls to me from the folks. I consider that a win.

Now off to walk my dog (she gets too stressed out to go to dog shows) and email my brother with directions for his visit with the folks.

Also, I had a lovely dinner with Javachik last night, with great drinks & company and a surprisingly-geeky conversation with the waiter and one of the other customers.

Definitely a win, Consuela--no meltdown an dinner with Javachik counts in my book ;)

I am waiting around before my last 5k of the year--it's downtown, and a madhouse. 30 minutes to kill before the start, but I'm afraid I need to pee.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Total win.

Man, meara, I admire you. I'd like to get to that point.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Definite win!

I'm very impressed with your keeping that up, meara -- nice job!

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

I have 30 notes on a tumblr post and I feel like a celebrity.

Awesome, meara! Best of luck!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Woo, meara, a whole year of 5Ks! Go you!

Enjoy your day, Consuela.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay Consuela, for a weekend full of win!

And yeah, meara, def impressed with your 5K year. Another win!

I am having a bit of a panic attack. Been kinda building for a couple weeks. Ugh. Need to slog through it however and get shit done or I'll just end up having more of these.

Bummer, Burrell. We're here for you.

Man, meara, I admire you. I'd like to get to that point.

You can do it! Any of you can!! Seriously, I completely walked the first two races, and a couple others in there, when I wasn't feeling it. Even my slowest one was less than an hour. It's easy, and there's always lots of people walking. And you can just run when you feel like it. Lord knows I have in no way been able to run the whole thing at any point!

I am disappointed, though, because my time this race was not my fastest. I was hoping to go out on a good note, but my fastest time is still back in JULY (I think because it was at midnight, and all the rest of these are in the morning!). I seem to be pretty steady around a 12:30 pace. Which would be an OK jog, if I were jogging the whole thing...

Art Crawl!!!

I had the most sleeptastic Saturday ever - I went to bed sometime after midnight Friday and woke up the first time around 7:30. . . didn't get up. Listened to a podcast, fell asleep again, woke up sometime later, didn't get up, fell asleep again and finally woke up after 3. . . with allergytastic nose running and itchy eyes. . .so I got up then.

And stayed up 'til after 4 am this morning and went to bed and then got up around 10. Feeling fantastic.

Apparently, it's just what I needed.
