Went out to a party for the ARP adults. It was mostly the command staff and the folks who put together the silent auction. It was nice to be out and people liked my peppermint brownie cookies (a new recipe).

It started snowing about half way through the party and I didn't leave until about 11:30. It was quite the drive home. It isn't like I haven't driven on snow before, just not so late at night or without anyone else with me. And to think, CJ had the top down on the Mustang earlier today. Hah!

Nice night next door with new neighbor. Had interesting conversations with complete strangers AND my statehouse delegate and her partner again (last I saw her was at the housewarming of the previous neighbor's. Kinda funny, Smalltimore.)

Neat to see how he's made the house his, plus to impart the wisdom (aka quirks) of Ednor Gardens homes.

Then wishing my brother a happy birthday.

This morning, I need to think about cleaning and shopping and eh.

Timelies all!

Raining here. Could be worse, could be snow.

Trust my rage

Suzi, I was driving home from Denver last night at 8:30-9:00 and the roads got really bad in south Denver/castle Rock. I actually slid a couple of times and had to slow way down.

My furnace quit working yesterday. I got it fixed in a couple of hours and it only cost me $110, but now with the snow, I'm really glad it all happened yesterday and not today.

I had some other news I wanted to share with you people but now I can't remember what it was.

Going to a dog show out in the hinterlands today; hoping to hit a winery on the way home. At the very least it will be a pretty drive, and it means my sister & I are off parental duty today.

Speaking of which: no melt-down last night, or at least no phone calls to me from the folks. I consider that a win.

Now off to walk my dog (she gets too stressed out to go to dog shows) and email my brother with directions for his visit with the folks.

Also, I had a lovely dinner with Javachik last night, with great drinks & company and a surprisingly-geeky conversation with the waiter and one of the other customers.

Definitely a win, Consuela--no meltdown an dinner with Javachik counts in my book ;)

I am waiting around before my last 5k of the year--it's downtown, and a madhouse. 30 minutes to kill before the start, but I'm afraid I need to pee.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Total win.

Man, meara, I admire you. I'd like to get to that point.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Definite win!

I'm very impressed with your keeping that up, meara -- nice job!
