Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh msbelle, what a damn nightmare! For both of you!

Though... if you were coughing/talking at all the whole time the Heimlich might not have been the way to go anyway. Even when done perfectly it can break the xyphoid process or ribs. It's worth doing to save a life of course, but the whole ordeal could have wound up even more traumatic had E cracked a few of your ribs!

So glad you're both ok. Too scary. Too damn scary.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I wasn't coughing until I expelled something by standing up and leaning over, and I knew once I coughed that I was in fact breathing, but it didn't feel right or like enough could get in, but all good now and I will be sleeping in his room.

I may even sing him to sleep with some lullaby about how he is the farter and rules over fartland.

That's touching as hell. In a farty way.

My god, I actually had a pleasant conversation with Mom in which no horrible things were said and she never mentioned moving.

... the worst thing is that I found that worth remarking.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'm so tired of drama. This time it isn't me or my family, but my BFF. I know I posted a while back when she discovered that her husband was molesting their daughter. Bad situation but once he was confronted, he has given her everything she has asked for. And her daughter has recovered from the experience fairly well, though she doesn't ever want to see dad again (understandably).

So I recently found out that in August her eldest son, 18 years old, was arrested for domestic abuse of his girl friend. My BFF bailed him out. Then a few weeks ago he snapped and started beating up my BFF to the point where neighbors had to call the cops. He is still in jail and not due out until December 30th. She is moving from Washington back to California on December 21st. She has had the worst 5 months ever. I just can't even... I wish I could help her move or do something to help her. Right now it is just a lot of talking and trying to tempt her to move to Colorado.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Right now it is just a lot of talking and trying to tempt her to move to Colorado.

She should totally move in with you! And have the sanity and whatnot!

Oh my god, Suzi, that's awful. Her son beat her up?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Lee I highly recommend fosters that have been in a house with cats

This. A good rescue should be able to hook you up, and you might think about a foster-to-adopt situation - your intention is to keep the dog but if it and the cats just can't fit after a while, you have an option without too much guilt.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh lord, Suzi, that is awful.

I think I'm losing my memory way too fast (but my friend J is 44 and getting hearing aids so maybe I'm just feeling old). I can't remember what I need. Nor can I get enough sleep to feel rested. I swear, I could Rip Van Winkle it and still feel tired.

Today, though, my brain just went blargh. I got down to the parking lot (my classroom is on the 4th floor) and realized I had forgotten my purse. So I went back upstairs, even though I was late, righteously taking the stairway. I get up there and grab my water bottle and get back downstairs. I open the car, get in and realize I still don 't have my purse. WTF?!

I feel dumb. I can't remember crap.
