Sorry you had a crappy day yesterday, Liese. I hope today is better.

My brother's research group has a new video on Youtube about their current work, Instrumented Bodies: Digital Prostheses for Music and Dance.

I thought it was really interesting, but I suppose I'm biased.

Our wings are not tired.

Huh, Flea woke everyone up, then left.

I have a house full of extra people so I woke up early (well, my usual time) and made 3 quiches for when they awake. This will not be soon because they were at the casino all night then went to the beach for sunrise.

So off for a nice long swim for me.

Wow, baking already! Very impressive. A swim sounds lovely. I haven't been yet this year.

I have a/the first rehearsal this morning for a song we're singing at church tomorrow. I'm only doing harmony, but it still feels pretty slapdash. Oh well, we'll see how it goes. I'm having some breathing problems, too. Blah.

Oh, I'm glad you liked it! I think the idea of attaching the instruments to the dancers is a really interesting approach. It doesn't hurt that it makes the instrument demonstrations much more interesting to look at!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

My weekend involves working. But we will likely be going to the county fair, so that can be fun. Or exhausting. Or both.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Quiet weekend planned here, I'm hitting the farmers market after showering, then napping and probably going to see RED2 once I wake up for good.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I've got to sing this Sunday too and it feels pretty slapdash. The lead guy has a great bluesy voice, but it means doing his bgvs is something of a crapshoot because you never know exactly where he's headed.

I've marketed solo and really enjoying my grilled portabello, onion & spinach on rosemary ciabatta. God, this sandwich is a thing of flavor and textural beauty.

It's not too hot out, but it is HUMID. Uhg.

Will let the sandwich settle and maybe nap, then swim. Tossup as to whether my neighbor and I car carpooling to the party. On one hand, sure, it's about 40 minutes away. On the other, I don't know that I'll end up staying as long as her, she's much more extroverted than I.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If you missed it yesterday like I did, President Obama's remarks on Trayvon Martin are really something special. [link]
