Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It's such a problem, the two-tier pay system in academia.

No, it's fine.

Yeah. I'm looking for a new job this year, but I'm probably not going to be able to get anything tenure track, since I've been teaching 3 classes a day, 4 days a week, for the past three years, I haven't really had time to get much research done. (Yes, I could have done research during the summers. But, that didn't really happen.)
I don't think I've ever isolated a body part in my life! At least, not on my trunk. I mean, I can move just one arm with no problem.
I remember trying to work out once, doing this thing where you kneel on all fours and then kick one leg out behind you. Someone was trying to help, saying something like, "No you should be moving this other muscle." And I was all, "Look, either the leg kicks or it doesn't."
Via Knut: Holy shit, roundhouse kick.
He fucked with the wrong girl!
And I was all, "Look, either the leg kicks or it doesn't."
I feel like doing yoga has helped my body awareness a TON (and I should really go back, even though it's hoooootttttttt), but there are still many times when they are like, "you should feel this in X spot," and I'm like, Nope! But my parts seem to be in the right places, so I let it go.
That was awesome.
I get disproportionately annoyed when people ask me for things I've already sent them. Text messages and phone calls looking for documents that I sent out half an hour to hours ago...is the assumption that I'm slow? Why not check and see if you have it already? Is there really no harm done by making that mistake? Repeatedly?
It is so fucking cold in the building I can't think. I'm going to my car to grab a sweatshirt before the 12:30 meeting, dress code be damned.
Jesse, my niece taught us some belly dance when I was on va action, and me being bad at it did not make it less fun.
