Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am not at all surprised.

I'm not at all surprised either as the prosecution couldn't call the one witness who could have cleared it up because he was dead. Beyond a reasonable doubt is a pretty high bar.

Also, defense only had to prove that Zimmerman was concerned for his own safety.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

these past couple of weeks have been utter BULLSHIT. This verdict is the cherry on the sundae. Really.

BULLSHIT.

I'm like Kat. I've been on a jury where we were all pretty confident some version of what was alleged went down, but it was so muddled. There was reasonable doubt, even if in our guts, we felt there had been an assault, no one gave us enough to be certain. We largely wanted to convict all of the court, including lawyers, of stupidity, but that wasn't one of our options.

The big problem is stand your ground and how the local cops so fucked everything up at the beginning. Well,no, the BIG problem is that being black makes you a suspect just by existing.

I'm not surprised. Appalled, but not surprised.

Frankly, the Stand Your Ground Law is bullshit. The fact of the matter is that even if Zimmerman started it (which frankly everyone seems to agree on). If at any point, he was in fear for his life, he was justified in using deadly force.

Vortex said what I meant but so much clearer.

In selfish news, we ate at a place called Lemonade. I only went because I thought there would be lemon meringue for Katie. There was none. Blargh. The concept of the place was a lot like Tender Greens (get a tray, pick your multiple salads/sides, there is meat or tossed salads if you want), but the food was all Full of Tastes. A green chile butternut squash salad with hominy and white corn, for example. Delicious, but no reason to get anything else with it.

Good, but too much going on and No lemon meringue.

Our wings are not tired.

The lack of remorse is the hardest part for me to understand. It is just so very upsetting and heartbreaking.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Meanwhile I'm going to focus on the pleasantness of hammocks. Well done, Lee.
