The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Meanwhile I'm going to focus on the pleasantness of hammocks. Well done, Lee.

Very nice, Lee. I'm jealous.

Because books.

The big problem is stand your ground and how the local cops so fucked everything up at the beginning. Well, no, the BIG problem is that being black makes you a suspect just by existing.

This.

Lee, that looks blissful. Good job!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So jealous of Lee!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I am so heartsick. Last shred of hope for society gone.

Lemonade is my favorite restaurant after Tender Greens! There's one in LAX now, in the Delta terminal. When I was in LA every week, I would go there every time. But I usually just got a few of the side dishes, not any of the stews or sandwiches.

I'm like Kat. I've been on a jury where we were all pretty confident some version of what was alleged went down, but it was so muddled. There was reasonable doubt, even if in our guts, we felt there had been an assault, no one gave us enough to be certain. We largely wanted to convict all of the court, including lawyers, of stupidity, but that wasn't one of our options.

I was also on a jury where we were pretty convinced what actually went down (two defendants on related charges--one was totally guilty, one was a seriously sketchy dude who probably hadn't actually done THAT particular thing). It was a hung jury (different directions on the two different defendants, but hung in both cases). THAT I would've bought, on the Zimmerman thing. Would've still sucked, would've meant he got off (if they chose not to redo) but...straight up not guilty? Lord. Also, as someone said, who's to say Trayvon wasn't standing his ground against the creepy old dude who was following him?? Who gets to stand their ground and who doesn't??

DUh, meara, whoever is more privileged!! Pecking order, people. So sucks to be down the pole.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm not linking to the article about the Fox News asshat who crowed about the Texas abortion bill passing, and chortled, on air, "You liberals might want to check out this website." It's a retailer of padded, plastic, and suit hangers. Why is this waste of skin still on payroll? Oh right. Fox.

Also, apparently, in North Carolina now, you can't get an abortion on a motorcycle. This week has sucked.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The GOP is just so hateful. It's appalling to me how venomous and cruel and punitive they are.

Damnit! First they make us wear helmets on motorcycles, now they say we can't have abortions on them? What is this world COMING TO?

(I realize that's not actually what the bill says, but the idea still cracks me up)
