I'm on hospital call until ten. WUNDERBAR.
They're "arranging some discharges" but they're not clear on if that will happen today or tomorrow.
The words they use to explain the situation really don't help much. Why do I want to be in hospital overnight if I'm not being treated until tomorrow? Because apparently you need to dibs the bed, but what was the point of scheduling an admission?
I didn't understand this when we were at the hospital with my father -- do they actually discharge people at night?
[link] Can non fb people see this? It's my robins! They look like real birds!
You don't register a patient for a procedure with a "well, if we have extra time" attitude.
HA. You'd think, except this is exactly what my old OB did when I was a week overdue with Dylan and he told me to come in to be induced. 8 hours in the hallway of the maternity ward while 41 weeks pregnant and my OB wasn't even at the hospital that day.
Pop quiz - guess why this doctor is no longer treating me?!
Jessica,
I was going to hazard a guess, but I don't think you included enough information in your post.

I have been discharged at night. I used to think I was waiting for a specific window, but fuck it. If the doctor has no further treatment plans, and I don't need to be observed, I'm not actually staying.
Email from my doctor's assistant says they are readying a bed for me now. So, uh, they should call me in two hours.

They don't yet know if I will need to miss work on Friday.
I know a low-glycemic-index diet is supposed to stop cravings since your blood sugar isn't crashing.
But I'm just not that hungry. Even with the temptation of tasty food. Two pieces of toast and some yoghurt into the day...
Fingers crossed they get their shit together, ita.

Holy shit. Has he never met a woman already a week late with her first baby?
ita, I'm sorry this is so miserable for/to you.
Oh, ita, what a terrible day.
I am applying for another crazy international job. They want a complete employment history, which is killing me. I worked a LOT of short term contracts in the 90s. I can't even get into theatre jobs. But here's a question for the hivemind: They want addresses for places, and one organization I work for no longer exists. What do I do?
