Because of the chair gimmick I don't get Mottsed that often since Graham's tipping them over usually while I still want to hear what they're saying.
I did used to zone out or FF past the musical section, but I did realise that I listen to so little commercial music that one complete song a week isn't going to ruin my life, and lord knows I might even like something. And it has sent me to iTunes more than once.
Speaking of music I don't listen to, sis sent me Indian Gangnam style: [link] which has choreography I'm willing to chalk up to CGI for the tight synchronisation. Uncanny Valley aside, they are rocking it.
The ornament Bubba destroyed was a Styrofoam snowman, which now has a hole in its forehead where the hanging thread part used to be.
You could go with a Calvin snowman theme.
What does "get the Motts" come from?
I find myself wanting to Nilly up another link that will give the basic information but obfuscate the source and history. I'm going to ignore that lure and just link to the real thing. Motts. [link]
Timelies all!
There's at least one advantage to being Jewish this time of year. No tree attacks. (Nova is the type of cat who would launch herself at the tree to get the ornaments.) We just have to make sure to put the menorah where she can't get at it. Cat flambe is not a fun thing.
I'm trying to buy a new menorah. There are way too many options and I can't decide which one I like.
Just from the Jewish Museum gift shop, I can get a menorah made by artisans in Haiti out of recycled oil drums [link] , or a menorah that looks like a lion [link] or one that's really pretty but $200 [link] or one with a Statue of Liberty motif for $12,000 [link] or one made out of Lego [link] And that's just from one site. Too many choices! (I really like the lion one, but I'd be worried about wax dripping into the wire, and it would be nearly impossible to clean.)
The Haiti one is absolutely gorgeous. WANT.
