For the weekend? I would say you can definitely find a nice hotel in the financial district for less than $90 on Priceline, but maybe not 4th of July weekend.

Jesse, I was thinking Sunday night going into Monday. Does that still count as a holiday weekend?
For tomorrow night, Hotwire shows a bunch of places under $125, which I think means you should be able to get $90 on Priceline.
You could also try the Courtyard Marriott in Cambridge or the Holiday Inn in Somerville -- those are cheaper chains. Oh, there's also a crappy hotel in Harvard Sq -- the Harvard Square Hotel. If you end up there, let me know, because I live around the corner!
I was poking around, so crossposted. Sunday night should be even better, with holiday people leaving.
Thanks Jesse! I'll let you know what happens.
I figure if I'm going to drive 9 hours round trip, I might as well spend the night so I don't stress myself out, and can take in the city at night (unless you count Christmas at like 6pm at Faneuil Hall), which I've never done. And there might also be fact-finding missions involved for writing purposes. But also, I just miss the heck out of Boston, and have a craving for the Ye Olde Oyster House.
Timelies all!
We are at the North American Discworld Convention in Baltimore. Alas, Sir Terry is unable to join us, because of the book he is working on. Still, it should be fun.
Oh, cool! I've been wanting to go to one of those but haven't made it happen.
