I've had no problem finding tops around here, but skirts that weren't obnoxiously tight around the hips have been a challenge. I'll be interested to see what their fall collection has.

When one is measuring for bra size, is it with or without a bra on? Because gravity is a bitch on a 40-year-old bustline (counting from when they "bloomed").
Best fitting bra on, is the advice I've gotten.
Or go to Nordstrom and have them do it. Victoria's Secret does it as well, but they probably don't do as good of a job.
My coworker had a hilarious story about getting measured at VS for bras, and they seem to have a technique of making everyone's boobs seem bigger. She's a B cup, if that, and they put her in a C, and she's shouting "You did something wrong!". And as she's in the fitting room, she's hearing other customers shouting "there's no way I'm this size!". But apparently they want women to feel bustier, so their bras are sized in a skewed way. Which makes me worried that they'd try to put me in a size E or DDD or some craziness.
VS put me in a smaller cup and larger band than I thought I should be in. I actually bought a bunch when I was fitted and then packed them away when weight-gaining happened. I came across them in one of my clothes-I-would-like-to-fit-in-again boxes, recently and they are currently my best fitting bras, although underwire so after about 12 hours I really want to not be wearing them anymore.
I have always heard that Nordstroms is really good for bras but I've never tested them.
ETA: I don't think I am the same size I was when I was fitted at VS, either, so I'm not really endorsing their technique. It's more of a coincidence that those bras fit well right now. It's funny to me that they erred in the opposite direction with me to Juliebird's friend's experience.
Nordstroms is awesome.
Nordstroms has been the best for me -- The person who fit me didn't measure just brought the right bra size to try on. Then she measured after to make sure. I was SHOCKED at how off the VS people had been.
Bra shopping makes me so weary.
Strangely, in Ireland, they got my band size from measuring my overbust.
