"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Most of mine are silver or pink, so that could work.

I think that would look striking and pretty.

Black Christmas actually precedes Halloween and is often considered the first slasher movie of the 70s. Notably it was directed by the same guy who directed A Christmas Story.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yeah, I think I may go try the other target, and see if they have any of the normal ones that I did like.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah, silver and pink on a black tree would look great.

You guys, I am seriously almost done Christmas shopping. It's a miracle! Maybe I'll go to the craft fair now instead of stupid laundry. I can always do laundry tonight, right?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh yeah, silver and pink on a black tree would look great.

I obviously vote for this. It would look fantastic!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Connie,

you are much more tolerant than I am. I negotiate solely via internet with regard to cars. Then I test drive. I really really don't like bullshit.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Husband is looking at home listings that the realtor sent and preparing his response. It involves a Word document and three separate heading levels.

I might lose my mind before he leaves for Houston tomorrow morning.

I decided I didn't have enough Jilli in me to pull off a black tree, so I went with a smaller green one

Which may be good, since Bubba has already tried to climb the tree, even though it is still in the box. At least this way he has less far to fall.

I also used my trip to the other Target to return the thing I was iffey on from the first trip, which made the day less expensive.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

so, I am watching a SyFy movie called "Ice Spiders "

It is a very poor quality movie. Although I never though there would be a random skiing scene in the middle of creature horror flick.

Just so you have a taste of how bad the movie is: Stephen Cannell has a major role.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just wrote a letter to the IO9 editor telling her I was sad that it seemed the tenor of the site was no longer as welcoming to fangirls as it used to be, now that they have a regular fanfic mockery article--not that there isn't fic that's fun to mock--just that when that's the only coverage you have, tearing apart something someone worked hard on with a heavy dose of sex shaming to boot...it no longer feels like a part of "real" sci fi/fantasy fandom that accepts these female-chosen ways of being fannish, and that's a big loss for me.

With the change to the commenting software the general mood of conversation has gotten meaner and emptier, and with this recent change in staff, they are losing the balance that initially attracted me. I know I'm not Denton's goal, but it was a nice fantasy to think Annalee could run her own corner of the Gawker network as she saw fit.

People keep saying "Don't they know they're being XYZ?" Oh, they're not stupid. They know. They might not know how much you care, but they know what they're doing. Tell them, not me.
