"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm pretty sure drinking water before meals is a Weight Watchers tip for eating less, and they seem to know what they are doing?

Well, they get lots of repeat customers too.

Professional food contest folks (you know, those annoying tiny people who eat 87 hotdogs) will also tell you to drink water to expand the stomach too.

I think drinking water is a diet tip not because it increases a sense of satiety, but because at times the hunger cue is really a need for hydration cue.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I like that the last good stuff article doesn't mention the father has a prosthetic leg.

I like that I got the 12:30 meeting cancelled. I don't like that I haven't been told I can go home early.

I did also get the Friday committee meeting cancelled, but I really want to go home early today.

I like that I got a request to update the run documentation for my old team with the most recent information and I had already done that weeks ago.

But I really want to go home early today.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I don't exactly qualify as "normal people" but I make my own frozen dinners and have 12 days worth currently in my freezer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I like that the last good stuff article doesn't mention the father has a prosthetic leg.

I noticed that, too! And also liked it. That one was courtesy of msbelle, btw. I'm sorry I'm so bad with crediting submissions.

hip deep in pie

I submit to the New York Times that cobbler nor crisp nor crumble are pies. They are delicious, but they are not pies.

I am on the fence about tarts.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

No, someone needs to just ask Johnny Depp to fucking act again.

I think someone needs to stage an intervention on him and Tim Burton. Tim! Go back to making movies like Big Fish and Beetlejuice!

Johnny! Go act in a Serious Movie where they won't let you have wacky makeup or prosthetics!

(I can't believe I just wrote those things.)

Thrive to spite them

I'm not normal but when I'm feeling better I tend to buy whole chickens and then cook them in the slow cooker (just need salt and pepper and cooked on low until done) and then shred the meat and portion it out in 1 or 2 cup portions and throw those in the freezer.

I also buy a lot of frozen veggies (cheaper than the fresh pre cut veggies) and I'll mix frozen veggies, chicken, seasoning, and rice together.

You can also use the chicken in salads and other applications.

And it's easy to bake a bunch of potatoes in the oven and then keep them in the fridge. Then either cut them up and pan fry them to reheat or throw them in the microwave.

So whether or not you guys work in a middle-of-the-road conservative office, you can imagine what's acceptable in one, right? How does this hairstyle sound?

[Employee]—who has [educational level], developed [professional milestones]—wears her hair in plaits with little trinkets tied to the end. Each trinket represents a significant moment in her life.

Do you see her at the average office gig?

Oh, and shit--somewhere yesterday I saw a post explaining that Femme Friday was for queer people who identified as femme, not for straight women. Which made me wonder--what's the difference, if any, between identifying as femme and identifying as female? Is the wording significant? Never mind I have no idea what Femme Friday even is--I'm clueless all the way down on this one.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I love the name Jumbleberry Grunt. It sounds like a Harry Potter character.

I plan to start using "Lazy Sonker" as an insult immediately.

I am willing to accept cobblers/grunts/slumps/etc in the pie category because they do share common ancestry. Also because they are delicious.

Oh Kat. I am usually horrible about remembering my dreams but occasionally a thought or a picture lingers when I wake up. Today it was Grace, very forcefully, telling me that we needed to sell CJ's toes for celery.

I got nuttin - no clue how, why, where, why - but that was what I woke up remembering.
