I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That's fantastic. Although in my head Bert's head would be on Ernie's shoulder.

But how would it FIT?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I could possibly program my DVR from here directly, but instead I'm going to ask you people to remind me to watch the PBS show about the revival of Annie tonight: [link]

Because books.

That's a really good point, Jesse. I like her, too.

I can see how it might be a little less than celebratory to be represented by Muppets in that way, too, when there are plenty of flesh and blood couples who might have been pictured.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So I'm on a train right now that will take me to the Amtrak station. I'm on my way to San Francisco!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

What day do you arrive, tommy? Where are you staying? How planned-up are you already? I MUST KNOW THESE THINGS.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ernie and Bert aren't gay because they don't exist below the waist? Is she saying they're not gay because they're not real, or they're not gay because they can't buttfuck?

I do actually get why one might not want that to be a celebratory cover. She hits precisely zero no points outside of "I don't ship that" in her piece though.

I can see how it might be a little less than celebratory to be represented by Muppets in that way, too, when there are plenty of flesh and blood couples who might have been pictured

While this is true, I also think that resonant symbols that everyone grew up with are also a valid choice to commemorate a moment.

JZ, there's some details in the f2f thread.

Of course, we'd love to hang out with you!

I would say both. They are not sexual creatures! But also, I don't ship that.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I get what June is saying. But has she seen New Yorker covers recently? This is right in line with the kinds of things they do thematically. In addition, check out 2012 (5/21 and 6/25) - [link]

Other ideas they may have done to commemorate the decision were probably already done.
