Sure--it's a kid's show and no intent existed for them to be a Couple. That's fine. That is also, I think, the entire "they're not gay (for each other)" argument.

I think it's harmful for her to conflate same-gender love with same-gender sex.
It's reductive, and plays into the stereotypes that harm us as a community, given that being squicked by the idea of queer sex is largely held to be one of the factors in persistent homophobia and discrimination. Love and commitment can involve sex, but sex ain't the end all, be all, and until death do us part doesn't have a clause that says you take it all back if one of or both of you just ain't up to or up for that piece of it.
