"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy birthday to my wife! (Please don't forget to eat cake today with all the cleaning)

flea, I am traveling to my 30th college reunion. Technically it is a reunion open to everybody who attended Kenyon in the 80s, as it was formed through Kenyon's K80s FB group.

Anyway, I took the train to Sacramento where I met my friend Alex (best man at my weddings, and best friend since high school). We flew (through delays and reschedulings) to Houston, then on to Pittsburgh where my college rooomate Chip collected us. (It this sounds familiar Alex and I went to Chip's wedding last summer, so this part of the trip is the same.)

Tonight we will meet up with a large batch of my favorite Kenyon people and then tomorrow we will drive down to the school itself (4+ hours drive as I recall). Then is the frolicking and the beer truck.

I have already promised to Prancercise down the Middle Path of my college.

With a few exceptions (not counting Buffistae) I will literally be seeing all of my very closest friends at one of the most beautiful and memory bedazzled places I've ever been. On my birthday.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Happy Birthday, JZ!! Yes, I also endorse cake for you!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Happy Birthday, JZ!!!

I have already promised to Prancercise down the Middle Path of my college.

You need to get one of these.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

On reading some of the Supremes: The DOMA decision is limited to couples living in a state that recognizes the marriage. IOW, if a legally married CA couple moves to Utah, they will not get the benefits from the feds. I think I stated otherwise, yesterday.

That is what I was wondering. That seems to be an invitation for further litigation. I am agreeing with Scalia in that ultimately this is unsatisfying in its unresolvedness.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Visting folks cancelled. Pain-induced insomnia, it's raining up there, so. Dreamed that my knee was in pain, which was odd. I can't get out of bed sitting up. I have to roll with my face smooshed in the pillow. Not unlike the whiplash I got doing practice jumps off of ten-foot platforms in airborned school. How the hell did I do that just from sleeping funny?

Thrive to spite them

ita I wish I could transfer the ER staff here to you. Although it probably makes a difference that last night was "busy" and there were about 5 people there.

Got my ultrasound this morning and results. No blood clots. Like I logically knew, but now I have reassurance. I just have to keep taking the diuretic, drink lots of water, and keep my feet elevated.

The Nurse Practitioner said it's probably from the heat and humidity. I pointed out I'm from FLORIDA this is nothing compared to what I knew. But she countered with - my body has a new baseline for what's normal and the weather has been abnormal (very humid, lots of rain) so my feet got swollen. But I'm still supposed to follow up with my doctor.

It makes me worried about what will happen if I go back to Florida any between April - October.
