meanwhile, people in Deen's restaurants were working in a hostile work environment. for years.
Yeah, the people defending her seem to forget that she's not actually in trouble for using a racial slur in a private conversation. I mean, that's what she's in trouble for in Facebook, but what she's being sued for is violating anti-discrimination laws and mistreating her employees.
(I just had to walk away from a FB argument with someone who was very upset that Deen is being censored like this. Last time I checked, the Food Network was not a branch of government, but I'm waiting to be corrected on that.)

Right? I'd be fired for using slurs. Also? people saying she's a racist d-bag is not censoring her, IT IS BEING DECENT. omg.
And Rice was actually saying that a white person could not be offended by use of the slur? really? I boggle.
Also? people saying she's a racist d-bag is not censoring her
This person was saying that her being fired was a form of censorship. Because I guess now the only outlets she has to be racist on are EVERYWHERE EXCEPT THE FOOD NETWORK.
That is f'ing awesome.
Seriously, I love living in the future.
And I grabbed a bunch of movies and vids and threw them onto my Google Drive last night so I can watch them.
Which way are you going, Hec? I'll wave when I hear the whistle if you're Sacramento-ward.
I'm heading to Sacto, -t! In Fairfield now, and should be in Sacramento by 2:40ish.
ok - sara, I have a task for you. The B'more cop featured on Good Stuff with the dog, I think you need to have him over for drinks. because wine.
Holy shit, I saw a seal in SF Bay from the train. Coooool.
I'm going to take a bold stance and declare that seals are better than racism.
At first, I thought he said he saw a seal ON the train, and I was like, WAAAAY better than racism!
I just had to walk away from a FB argument with someone who was very upset that Deen is being censored like this.
My favorite (SPOILER: that was sarcasm) comments are the ones where she was raised in a racist time period, so it's okay. Guess what? We're living in a racist time period NOW. Still not okay!
Oh, the Fairfield station is where I am!
::waves::
The Amtrak app says you won't be here for another 15 minutes, I wasn't prepared.
