Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I have concerns about adding that to my household of Macs and ipads, but I still might make the switch.

Me too, but Google and the Tech thread assure me it can be done!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So tired. Matilda woke at 3am with a nightmare. Got her back down to sleep and Emmett has a coughing fit. Go get him some water. Check the computer and find that the torrential rain is leaking just a bit into the nerdhole. Drape computer and electronics with towels.

Go back to bed but don't fall asleep until 5am. Alarm goes off at 5:20 because Emmett wants to go to his school gym to workout before school starts. Drive through torrential rain in the dark to get there and the weight room is closed.

Drop Emmett off back at his mom's house, get some groceries and now I'm ready to cash it in at 8:30am.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Wow.

At 8:30 (Central time) I was in line at a McDonnalds drive-thru.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

JZ, thank you so much. That was a wonderful story. I would be lying if I tried to pretend it didn't make me cry. I remember that myself and Emmett was so wonderful with her and I think about her enraptured face and my heart just grows and grows.

And I was totally lying - she isn't 8!! She's only 8 months!! Whew!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

And I was totally lying - she isn't 8!! She's only 8 months!! Whew!

I KNEW IT. You guys got married like a couple of years ago, and you left California last week.

Is there a university near you? The surplus equipment offices usually have stacks of these. And the threshold for "older" in a univeristy is pretty low.
