I wanna die in bed surrounded by fat grandchildren, but guess that's off the menu.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yesterday wore me out, but was a very nice day, what with driving up to Gudanov's to pick up an old computer he was getting rid of. (Sorry that my timing was inopportune for a more relaxed visit.) I had great weather almost all the way, and found out that my car got nearly 35 mpg over the drive - that's better highway mileage than when it was brand new 8 years ago!

Me being me, I spotted a Brazillian steakhouse from the highway on the drive up though Springfield, and managed to squeak in an hour before their closing time. Being on the Atkins diet and an all-you-can-eat for $21 steakhouse are definitely a match made in carnivore heaven, and my extremely friendly waiter was perhaps the hottest man I've met in the past couple of years. (Seriously, I considered leaving my phone number on the check!)

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I had just about the nerdiest birthday shindig last night EVER. A bunch of our friends met us at the bar, and there was a lot of drinking. I got a cool DC comics coffee mug, Avengers duct tape, a pirate lexicon, and other entertaining stuff.

When we got home, since it was after midnight, Tim let me open the box from the 3D printing company. I now have a mobius bacon strip (INFINITE BACON!) printed in sandstone, and a Klein bottle, printed in nylon. So. Freaking. COOL.

I, uh, also have a bit of a headache. I think cider #4 was a bad decision.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well done, birthday nerd!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Tep, do you think you need this, maybe for your bathroom? Or maybe this?

Happy birthday, girl!

Phone rang at 11:30 last night because servers 87 and 88 were not responding to monitoring. NOT MY DIVISION! But I actually couldn't help, and suggested they wake up someone who was a) on the support team and b) could provide useful information. Partial benefit of the new job--I'd rather not have been woken up at all.

And I may really really need to get a new mattress. Back pain got me out of bed, not being awake enough this morning. Fothermuck.

It's a weird feeling when I'm out and trying to decide what special treat I can buy for a meal but really want to drink that nummy treat I have at home--fizzy citrus water or tea. Still haven't bought a drink other than water out in months.

Hey, those might go great with the new vanity!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, Steph!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Birthday Teppy!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Happy Birthday, to the proudly geeky, witty-as-hell, kinkalicious, and deeply interesting Tep!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy birthday, Teppy! That Klein bottle is amazing! Also, bacon. Man, I want a 3D printer.

I hope Pete feels better soon.

Best wishes to Jesse's grandmother.

Peace and calm ~ma for your vacation, Burrell! Vacation pre-show was always like that at our house, too.

My arm is much better today. I no longer fear death. At least for the moment. I have two house-organizing items on my agenda for today, and here at 1pm I haven't started either one. But I'm supposed to be lazy on a Sunday, right?
