Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I also want to thank you guys for all the slur talk, which has resulted in my having in my head a Public Enemy song that is 90% the n word. Edit: I mean, the part in my head, not every verse. But close, because that's what it's about.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm allergic to the polymixin in neosporin. Itchy rash and fierce itching immediately. We use bacitracin, which is one of the three drugs in neosporin, and it does fine. Most drugstores have house brand baci, too. Not hard to find.

ETA: Also, we switched to cloth bandaids when the plastic ones caused my skin to slough painfully. That worked for a few years, and then the adhesive on any type of pre-made bandaid type bandage, or cloth adhesive tape, just dissolves my skin. If I *have* to use a bandage, I cut down a gauze pad to size, and wrap it around the finger or limb with a gauze strip, and use paper or silk surgical tape to stick it to itself, so the adhesive never touches skin.

For lo, I am a delicate flower and a horrendous PITA.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I can see a big red area around the scratch, like a burn but in the shape of a Band-aid,

I was just going to ask if it was in the shape of the Band-aid. For me, Band-aids come in two flavors: ones that cause welts and ones that fall off. It should get better soon with the Band-aid off. Usually I use gauze pads and the bandage that sticks to itself. If that won't work, the fabric Band-aids are the least irritating to my skin. In my case, it's definitely the adhesive, not the latex.

I ate way too much today. First the grilled portobello sandwich. And then there was a delicious broccoli kale slaw at TJs, so that was another meal which I normally don't have. And then went out with Anna to the Dizz for an espresso rubbed burger with havarti and bacon and sweet potato fries. God, I love their burgers. When you say rare, it really is a true rare. And a bottle of aussie merlot. Because a glass of wine is $5.50, but the bottle is $10, and you can take the leftovers home. So half a bottle in situ, the rest at home.

Nice catch up with my neighbor. And when we got home, someone ELSE was looking at the house across the street. It'll move. That's the thing that makes comps so hard here. There have been a few foreclosures every block; banks sit on them forever but when they put them on the market at a ridiculous price, they're gone in DAYS to starry eyed lucky-ducks. They could ask so much more, but they just want back their margin, and that makes it hard on property values for the rest of us.

In addition to my swim, I also cleaned up the damned yard, porch and sidewalk and sweated out all 6 bottles of water I drank today (>6 L) so maybe that's why I basically ate what I normally would in 2.5 days...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think it's the adhesive doing it to me, too. I need to start using the kind where the bandage sticks to itself.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My mother is in town this weekend. We went to see Much Ado, and then I showed her Dr. Horrible, and now we're watching "Once More With Feeling". Whedon win.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

we caught a tiger by the toe

Oh right, it was the toe.

I made it home two hours after I got off work. I'm glad I didn't do that on one of my 9am-midnight days.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

like a burn but in the shape of a Band-aid, so probably I'm allergic to something in the non-latex bandage (which I bought specifically because I'm allergic to latex).

The non-latex use an adhesive that jacks my skin up worse than latex usually. Good times.

My skin with bandaids is Gingers.

I just met the neighbor's two cocker spaniels. Barky, barky dogs but they seem to watch my house too without having met them so I am viewing them as more useful than annoying. Except! Neighbor and I were talking in the yard (she's friendly and I can't even remember her name) and her screen door didn't latch and both dogs flew out to go after another two dogs being walked across the street. A German Shepard and Weimaraner with pretty impeccable training considering they didn't eat the spaniels attacking them. And the neighbor is a little older so I was the one running after them. Trying to figure out if I could grab them without them turning to attack me since they'll bark to protect my house but they don't know ME at all. They bark at me just like anyone else. No one was hurt though. That was exciting. I wish I'd put on a bra before popping outside to water one tree for a minute. Really flawless training on the two big dogs. Man Weimaraners are pretty too.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Mmm, good day for me. Saw many very cool quilts, had a delish salad for lunch, then nice if winding drive through the hills to Napa for chocolate and wine (both yum, I bought a bunch of each) followed by tea, then back to Suisun where I had a coffee-coated steak which was tasty (though I still don't understand it well enough to describe it, really, except it was yum) and which I will have the leftovers of tomorrow. Ahhh.

AHS was not for me. I wanted to like it, but just not my beautiful cake. I can see what people who did like it saw in it (the first season anyway, which is all I watched) it just didn't resonate with me, I guess.

In my epic driving across most of Southern California last weekend, I listened to (and sang along with) all of OMwF. That was really fun. I haven't watched it in years.
