"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

You know that horrible Reddit/Kickstarter thing from earlier? Kickstarter has released a statement that, while the content is “abhorrent and inconsistent with [their] values,” their current guidelines do not warrant removal. So now there's a petition to tell Kickstarter that's not okay: [link]

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I can help with Solano County or maybe Contra Costa County, sarameg.

Abhorrent is allowed, eh? That seems like a good opportunity to rethink the guidelines, Kickstarter.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Bay area folk, if my friends need some SF advice (finding housing, neighborhoods, childcare, vets) can I point them your way? They are Cali kids, but I think mostly SoCal.

Of course, I can give a good rundown on schools in SF and the East Bay.

Jesse, this might be a good video for the Tumblr: Things Dogs Teach Us. [link]

Beware, though, there's a point in the middle where it might make you cry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I doubt this is science (NY Post???), but are the numbers in this [link] correct that women start experience pain pretty damned early in heel-wearing? I thought that was kinda just me. Pulling a work day in narrow 2-4 inch heeled pumps boggles me.

But one interviewee says she has tricks to go 12 hours without pain...I'm not curious enough to try, though.

Shit! My sister asked me to read her paper. I have to go have a brain. I thought I was done braining for the day.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I can try to help if they are looking in Silicon Valley.

I was at the dentist, and they had some entertainment channel on, so I got to watch 20 minutes of ticker saying Jame G had died.

Hey, if someone was going to be in New Orleans for a weekend in September, and wanted to go somewhere warm and relaxing before or after, does anyone have any suggestions for where that should be?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Grand Isle? Galveston? Padre?

New Orleans isn't warm and relaxing enough?

GOod point, but I like all of DJ's suggestions too, and I have never been to any of them.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jesse, this might be a good video for the Tumblr: Things Dogs Teach Us.

If you want a good dog cry, check out what happened this week with one of the rescue groups I work with:

[link]

(While it has people behaving like assholes, no violence or awful pictures involved)

And then watch this video of the aftermath, which is just so fairy tale awesome I can't even.
