Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

is it the seeds on the inside that make it a fruit?

Yes. Just like a cucumber, which people are much less agitated about for some reason. Is the green thing that big a deal?

Then what in sweet hell is a banana?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Then what in sweet hell is a banana?

Genetically engineered over multiple generations not to have seeds, but still fruit.

Fruit are plant eggs more or less. Seeds surrounded by fleshy/sugary bits.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Then what in sweet hell is a banana?

Delicious and unnatural? I would go with "eunuch fruit"

Wait, now I'm confused. A cucumber is a fruit? Are there other not-sweet fruits?

I am amused at the thought of a trans tomato.

Re: unemployment. Be sure you document everything carefully and I recommend faxing things to them if requested, because then you can have a fax confirmation sheet. It's that or certified mail, I guess. I'd prefer email but they didn't offer it, and they claimed to have not gotten shit from me when requested (and would thus be allowed to take back the money) but I had proof I'd sent it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bananas have vestigial seeds. You can see where they would have been, had they been required for anything over the years.

I boggle at how ugly some of zulily's stuff is, yet any time I visit I have to talk myself out of grabbing something. How many people do you think looked at this [link] and thought they needed to look that way (can you see images without being logged in?)? See how the cut of the pant removes both the appearance of knees and ankles! All those messy joints gone!

I really need to know how well this stuff is selling before they get their hands on it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

If it's just seeds inside, you get peppers and all squashes, too.

Tons of them, but we don't tend to eat them, so they don't come up in conversation. If it's got seeds inside but not in a legumey way, it's a fruit. Lots of plants reproduce thusly.

Wikipedia is awesome:

Therefore, the division is somewhat arbitrary, based on cultural views. For example, some people consider mushrooms to be vegetables even though they are not biologically plants, while others consider them a separate food category

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I consider mushrooms to be vegetables so I can pretend to myself that I eat enough vegetables.
