Happy birthday, askye.
That sucks, Suzi.
Probably I should just always roast peppers before I do anything else with them. It doesn't make them delicious, but it does make them taste a lot less toxic.
I find this to be true as well. Although roasted enough and I do begin to actually like them a bit. Raw or cooked sans char, I dislike them.
Roasting, taking off the skin, and getting rid of every speck of seed seems to get them to the point where I can mix them with other strong flavors and not mind them so much. I treat tomatoes similarly, but they sweeten up more - I actually like tomato sauce.
One of the times I visited LA before moving out here I was sitting in a sidewalk cafe, staring at this guy thinking "What a shame, having to look so much like Kenny Loggins..." At which point I realised a) Los Angeles b) the rest of what comes with
being
Kenny Loggins.
I've been told I have a good skull for my haircut, but...it was pretty much going to be this haircut anyway. I got off lucky.
I actually have seen and met white and Asian women with shaved heads
I'm thinking I've seen disproportionately more Asian women with it, actually. Or I could be having a Shimizu-moment. Which is all good. I saw Eve Salvail in person once, and Jesus--emulate her, be intimidated by her...who the fuck knows? She was just dysfunctionally gorgeous, and more so with the super short hair. Lord have mercy.
I was just reading another "they're not all that without the makeup" posts, and...you can go too far with those. There's a point at which you've clearly caught them on a bad day from a bad angle during a bad mood in the middle of a random motion. Yes, most of them are not as gorgeous as their press would have you think. But they also don't
all
show up for work looking like those photos. Do those articles really help?
I'm just glad that I'm not living on Long Island anymore and subjected to those matching velour track suits
I was just noticing that the women at the Wholefoods near work seem to be wearing the most expensive (well, not LA expensive--Lululemon, the like) but pristine exercise clothes. They just look...shiny, and not in a sweaty way.
I guess the 90s is now signaled by flannel/Grunge
Is it really that narrow? That has no crossover into business or formal or...well, most things. As opposed to shoulder pads in the 80s which were pervasive.
Did not know about Kim K either. I wish her good foot recuperation--saw some awfully uncomfortable looking pictures of pregnancy edema stuffed into stiletto sandals.
I am grumpy about the homework I turned in for the art class today: [link] That's the back of the envelope, made to "suggest" (code for hammer home with an anvil) opening the love letter is akin to opening your heard. Is the difference between art and pictures the amount of bullshit I am supposed to have poured into it?
I plan to cut mine real short and dye it blue.
Electric blue or royal blue?
That's beautiful, ita!
Thanks! Except I clicked on it myself, and that's the wrong one! That was the envelope I mailed to myself and haven't received. That was a travel theme. I replaced it with love. So, this is the front: [link] , the heart that opens: [link] the transitional view:, [link] and the love letter: [link]
I feel like I underexerted myself, but that took quite a while--the teacher usually demonstrates with collage, but I'm sure people are
painting
painting, and that must take quite a while. I really should be in the forums participating with the other students. Bad me.
Electric blue or royal blue?
Denim. Indigo. I guess. We'll see when I get there.
I was also trying to figure out what the cartoon silhouette for the Oughts would look like. I guess the 90s is now signaled by flannel/Grunge.
Hipster-rific, or
Jersey Shore
inspired?
