That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Hey -t, thanks for the interview~ma! I think it went well. It went for three hours, anyway (five different people), at least a half hour longer than planned, and I enjoyed meeting everyone and I think they liked me, and I said all the stuff I wanted to say. Now to write the thank-you notes and wait to hear.

In unrelated news, WE STILL HAVE FUCKING FLEAS. I am about to lose my mind. Our vet so far has only given us pills for the cats to kill the fleas, and Frontline, but they haven't mentioned doing a flea dip. Those who have dealt with fleas in the past, have you done a flea dip? Is that done anymore? If it's still an option, I'm at the point where I just want to bomb these fuckers from orbit.

That sounds really good, Kate! Good luck!

Uh, the interview, not the fleas.

Although good luck with the fleas, too. I have no advice.

I got to see Kat and Katie and the kids! It was only for 15 minutes, but it was Awesome!

Yay! I am still in my pajamas, so I guess me getting down there was probably never really in the cards. Super glad y'alll were able to get together!

The status is NOT quo.

Is this a local job? Best luck!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just got home from taking the car in for its 30 day checkup (which is why I only had 15 minutes with Kat et al).

My house is a fur covered disaster area, I haven't finished unpacking from my trip yet, I have job work to do, and I have 10 zillion errands to run, since I wasn't here to run them last weekend.

I'm going to go back to bed.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm at lunch with Nora, and you're not!

ita, I don't know.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

ita, I don't know.

I am trying not to buy mugs smaller than 14 ounces, because that's the optimal amount of tea for the optimal muffin or two optimal cookies--this has been extensively and scientifically researched. No more 12oz teacups for me.

I have a sooper dooper travel mug for long trips, but I do want something for my commute.

Watching the second season of Spartacus is so sad. I decided to look up the details on Andy after I'd finally gotten used to the new actor, and I kind of wish things could disappear from the internet. The "he's all clear and back to work!" articles are so very sad. Season 2 is scattered for a number of reasons, but his recasting as well as Nivya's don't do the show any favours. I at least hope she's alive...

Does the show pay royalties to 300? I had a friend who worked on the blood spatter for 300 (animation house) and this sems to be very ambitious in that regard, but less successful--they complete disregard for blood pressure (Why have throats slashed and not spray blood everywhere? How can a dismembered foot pump out so many bursts of blood?) and the quality of the blood is watery in motion to boot (kind of like the red water in the Hannibal credits.

I mailed myself a letter a week ago from the mailbox across the road from me, and it hasn't come yet! I need to draw the assignment over again. Within that time span I have mailed a disc to Netflix and gotten the replacement, but apparently my poor Liberty stamps and handmade envelope don't warrant the normally speedy LA mail.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I'm going to go back to bed.

That sounds like a good idea.

I was mildly disappointed in the birthday cake, because I think I overbeat the batter and it ended up a little dense. But it seemed to taste good, and it certainly looked pretty.

Today I'm going to make the long-delayed strawberry-rhubarb pie for Dad. He is, naturally, rather down. I thought he was doing okay but he told my sister he was blue, and hasn't been sleeping well. For a guy as undemonstrative as he is, that's a major statement.

LAUNDRY. Shit, I hope I haven't missed the dryers.

Man, I hate ideological whiplash. Interesting reblog about "Male privilege and transitioning from a fat woman to a fat man". Maybe I'll click on the link about triggers in The End, see if they have a case. Then...

petition to replace all straight white cis men in the world with puppies and/or vibrators
Now I gotta hate you, internet stranger.

I need some enhancements made to Tumblr Saviour.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

In my Words With Friends game, I just got an ad for a camera-lens mug that was 12.4 oz. In case you were wondering.
