Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But it's actually a 31-year-old woman in Milwaukee. Huh.

She has good taste in many things, but NOT tumblr layouts.

Tom, you have a lens cap coffee cup, right? Is it this? Or am I creating false memories?

brillig

I was just sitting here, idly wondering where my Nook had wandered off to, and I thought, "Well, I can just go to Search and type in--Wait. No. My office isn't indexed, and it's not a computer. Damn."

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I find that after extensive use in Word, I'll be in RL situations where my first reactions is Edit>Undo and realize that I can't.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

I saw a news story last night about the latest thing that Bigotry IncorporatedOne Million Moms is up in arms about: [link]

My response was to write Kraft a letter encouraging them to keep up the good work and pledging future purchases of the advertised dressing flavor. If anyone else feels like doing so, the response form is here: [link]

The ad from the Zesty campaign that I've seen seemed like a pretty clear cut...homage to the Old Spice guy, but hey. Women's bodies are used sincerely to sell things that are unrelated to sex or nudity--we're still at the point where turnabout is tongue in cheek, not a solemn correlation drawn between lingerie clad women and the best car or beer for you to buy.

I can't get up in arms about it, one way or another, but it doesn't even feel like a stab at equality.

Yesterday I was reading a piece on Photoshop gone too far, and I hate humanity all over again. Remember that Ralph Lauren model that was shopped dramatically thin? The model got fired for being too big (5'8, 120--yeah, pretty massive, sadly) on top of all that. Complaints about "that not being Julia Roberts real complexion in the make up ad"? They're not claiming she really looks like that--it's an aspirational ad, not a documentary. Aspirational seems to be the new weasel word for untruth in advertising.

Our wings are not tired.

Seriously Moms! They don't have anything better to be offended about? If I had the time or energy to be be an activist I hope my cause would be more worthy.
