Our current rental is 4 bedrooms, and we use the 4th to keep the cat litter boxes in. (Okay, it is technically also a study and sewing room, but mostly, cat litter.)

I have two bedrooms. It was not my intent that dog have her own room, but that's kind of how it's played out.

I actually refer to one room as the Litter Room.

Ugh, for some reason I thought SF in August wouldn't be insanely expensive, but I was wrong.

We have two houses, but I run my business from the second house. The front house is technically a 3BD/1BA, but the third bedroom isn't really a bedroom, it's more of an annex off the living room, it's where K has her desk and a bunch of our books. The second bedroom is a guest room, and then we have a master bedroom. There's one tiny bathroom in the middle of it all.

The back house is about the same square footage, but it's a 1BD/1BA. The bedroom is now my studio, and the rest of the house is office desks, and equipment, and a workroom and all of the fun things.

The home/work setup you have is really wonderful, ND. I love when I work from home, but the distractions are considerable. Having that few steps away work environment would work better.

One cool perk of my new job is working in the same building as SAG/AFTRA headquarters. I passed Steven Collins in the hall the other day. Last night, I was leaving and walked right by Scott Bakula, who I have had a little crush on forever! Very handsome in real life and he was humming cheerily to himself as he strode along.

ND, I'd dearly love to have two houses on one lot! I almost bought my house's Siamese twin (duplex townhouses) but they were asking way too much.

ION, that house did finally sell, so I'm getting new neighbors June 27. Whether this is good or bad, I don't know yet.

My house is 3B/2B, but it isn't real big; the kitchen and den are small and the dining "room" is more like a breakfast nook. It gives me a guest bedroom that doubles as storage and craft room (by which I mean, there's someplace to put the seldom-used sewing machine), and an office/library which is also the Place Where the Litterboxes Are. The yard is small, there's no basement or garage, and the attic is unfloored, so it's not my Ideal Home, but it's nice, and it's big enough for me and the cats. Also, it'll be paid off in 8 years, so really I can't complain.

In Michigan I could afford a two bedroom (and a real kitchen...::sob:::). I had a geek hole then. It was replete with stuff that didn't "fit" into decor (I find it's creepy when it looks like everything you can see in a room is decor, and none of it looks like they are things that people love and acquire--I look at the pictures on my walls a lot. I think about the places and people a lot. I could even stand to rake through my living room at move away all the things that don't qualify this way.

So I watched one of the videos for this week's art class, and they do explicitly want us to do envelopes, and not just any envelopes, but ones we've made ourselves from a sheet of paper. And then arted up an insert for inside (the teacher is very attached to collages, it seems, and I have no idea what's going on in any of them. I suffer from excessive literalitiness.

So I've gone for an origami envelope, so there's no separate insert, but a picture you get when you open it out. And I got it to the mailbox in time to send it to myself, so I can add the postmark as a part of it.

If not, I already have scans. And looking at them, damn, I need ocean or sky for the inside, fuck. But I would like to think it seems thematically composed, but if you're not Jamaican, less so. Huh.

Everything I own is like this! I don't understand spending money/using space for stuff you don't love just because it looks all HGTV in a room.
