Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

With Tracy Letts?

That is awesome, Aurelia.

I was just watching the finale of Pippin, with William Katt, because Linda Holmes was tweeting about Pippin, and I realized that despite loving musical theatre AND Stephen Schwartz/Godspell, I had never really listened to it.

I recognized the woman playing Pippin's wife, and it was Maeve from Guiding Light. That was weird!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Man, I forgot that living in the eastern time zone means there aren't a pile of posts by the time I get up and at em.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, funny! Of course, now I'm sort of regretting never seeing it at the ART here. But my formative Pippin was a school production the summer before I started high school, with Matt Damon as Pippin!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

With Tracy Letts?

Yep. The whole cast. The Steppenwolf production went from Chicago to D.C. to New York.

If you missed the Tonys' opening number, and have any interest in musical theater, you should really watch it: [link]

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I saw a review of him in Once; I so want to see it!

He was really terrific in it. As an adaptation of the film, the stage version is problematic, but on it's own it's gorgeous. I did love the way they arranged the songs for more voices. (And unlike that bizarre wretched Sweeney Todd from a few years back, this time it actually makes sense for the actors to carry their own instruments and play them onstage.)

I don't have real teevee, so I watched this am, and I cried. I think big opening numbers have the same effect on me as parades do.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I just watched it and cried a little, too. I'm not even much of a theater person!
