Now tagless for your comfort.

That made me go check my oven and I haven't even cooked this morning.

My new favorite GIF.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Morning, Buffistas.

You are the kind of daughter that your mother would be proud of if she was in her right mind.

Well, if she were in her right mind she wouldn't need to be in this kind of assisted living, so presumably the situation wouldn't have come up. But thank you Theodosia, and Laura, too. My dad will do better, I think: he sounded quite good on the phone last night. But for all I know we'll spend the next year with Mom hating us. ::shrugs:: I'll live.

I don't know, though: we're helping Dad at the price of Mom's peace of mind, even though (a) she didn't have much to begin with; and (b) her physical health is likely to improve. It does feel a bit as though we did betray her: we knew she wouldn't want to be in assisted living, although we didn't expect quite this level of terror. And it is terror, not just upset at the change.

Anyway, I slept fine last night, which was a nice change. Although I actually lost weight over the last week--I think I must be the only person who can actually lose weight (unintentionally) over Thanksgiving. And I cut back on the alcohol because it wasn't doing me much good and probably disrupting my sleep...

I need something good to talk about -- oh, yes. My oldest niece is going to attend arguments at the Supreme Court next week! She works for an environmental group that has a Clean Water Act case being argued. And this weekend she's going to call me to talk about the issues in the case.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I could work there. If the pants are optional.

Backstage, pants are always optional. We do get a chill from the loading dock though.

Did I mention mac's awesome school stuff?

You did not.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

mac made A/B honor roll. He had made it all last year, but the first 6 weeks he had a C in math. He has now brought that up to an A. BUT!!! More importantly were the glowing comments. I am not going to remember exactly, but close to " a joy to have in the classroom" "very responsible" "good cooperation skills" - We celebrated the comments a lot more than the grades I'll tell you what.

msbelle, that's wonderful.

Consuela, must be this case: [link] ?

You've made good decisions for your family. Once upon a time she made decisions for the family (rather than only based on the wishes of one member), so if you could talk to her, she'd get it, I think.
