The big number was, oddly, the total of a payment plan I'd already set up to pay off over the course of 6 months, yet they'd lumped it back at me. So I don't have to pay anything this month (but I will, just to reduce the future months installments).

Also, Rick's story about the blocks reminded me: I was listening to something about gendered play on NPR and there was a study that said if teachers put blocks on a table and not the floor, girls are more likely to play with them. I wonder why?
