Atomic I assume? They ARE iconic.

Indeed!

I'm pretty sure we're going to get a Prius. There don't really seem to be any other hybrids that compare in terms of price and quality. We get a 1/2 percent off our already crazy low rate on our loan for getting a hybrid plus there's the money saved gas-wise. Going from my '99 Mazda to anything is kind of like driving a car From the Future but I liked driving the Prius pretty well. But I guess we should try some other cars, just in case. I have the loaner from the mechanic for another day and then I think we'll rent for a week. And hopefully buy a new car in that time?

I know too well how you feel, lisah! STOP COPYING ME, IT IS RUINOUS!

With my driving, the extra cost for a hybrid didn't make sense. Plus, I was unwilling to spend that much on my single income and penny-pinching ways.

You guys just going to one or gonna get complimentary cars?

Also, did you get the 80s toyota loaner that while ancient and car-shop smelly, just purrs? Cracked me up the time they gave me that. Damned thing was in better shape than my younger car with lower mileage.

We'll do one for a while but we really are used to having two and I think that will work better for us in the long run. If it was reasonable for me to not drive to work we could totally get away with having one car.

Ha! No, I have a Nissan with a ton of miles on it that also seems to be in really good shape! And doesn't smell bad!

At least you have the zipcar to stretch it out.

The toyota didn't smell baaad, per se, just like a car shop- grease and gas. It was the one with the high miles.

I'm gonna miss them. Buying new, I have to stick with dealerships for a bit, but I'll totally go back to them when I'm off the hook.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Worst houseguest ever

No, awesome houseguest.

Hey. New board.

I do love my Subaru in almost every way and would encourage a look at the Imprezas if they at all fit your needs. They aren't hybrids at all but get pretty great mileage.

And if you are okay going small don't forget to check out the prius c as well. Cheaper than the main prius and even better efficiency. Plus I think it looks better.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm jealous that I'm not house-guesting with Cass and Lee.

Today we needed a replacement nurse for Grace and the agency actually had one lined up. Who didn't show up. Which I found out about at 7:00, which is also, interestingly the time I have to leave to get to work on time. Also, I had to give and grade a final today. AND then submit all of my grades.

So Grace came to school with me.

I had a 8554 things to do, so I kept leaving her in my classroom playing. I was gone too long at one point and she had an accident. So we went to Target to get new clothes and then when I got back, I accidentally threw my car keys away in the trash can and didn't realize it. Blech.

One of my co-workers was on the phone with his wife. He was saying how jealous he was that Grace was there and his two kids weren't. Um. Dude. My kids only come to school with me because I have inadequate options when things don't go as planned. You have a stay-at-home wife which means you never EVER have to take your kids to work. Stop bitching. Also, how can you afford your stay at home wife on your salary since I make at least 7.5% more than you do?
