And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Unless I'm explicitly taking a long lunch, I don't want to walk more than 2 long/4 short blocks to get it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I don't drive to lunch, as I'd lose my parking space. Most everything here in Highland Park can be walked to in under 10 minutes.

When I worked in the outskirts of Evanston I'd often ride my bike downtown for lunch. That would take less than 10 minutes.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I haven't worked that algorithm out yet, Zen. I have added a "miles from work" field in my restaurant database, but I hardly ever go out to lunch. But I will today! Hm, maybe BK. I had thought I'd go get the Reuben Wrap I already had planned for tomorrow, but then I have to figure out tomorrow's lunch...

Thanks, y'all. It's just a day of feeling bad even though I have no actual problems.

msbelle, I'm a size 16 at the moment. I'll check with you if I get down to a 10-12 range. I actually have tons of clothes and usually I like most of them, but today they all suck, you know?

Walter totally has the plastic/tasrps/whatever flapping in the wind fear. Also ladders, for some reason. Dogs are just weird, sometimes.

I've mostly stopped going to fast food places for anything besides McDonalds breakfasts. Sometime I go to Popeyes because their fried chicken is nummy.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Suzi, health~ma for K-Bug!

I almost never drive anywhere for lunch; either I bring my own or I walk to a restaurant nearby. There are really only 3 or 4 places with good (vegetarian) lunch options nearby, but that's just about enough, since I try to bring a lunch most days.

Our wings are not tired.

Lunch choices are:

1. Packed myself 2. Drive home - 1.1 mile 3. Walking distance options Sushi, Thai, Greek, Seafood, Italian, Wendy's, and more 4. Walking distance large grocery store 5. Drive up to 20 minutes because must have XYZ

Did I mention I love my new office?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't take longer than an hour for lunch. However far I can get in that time and eat decently is near enough. However, I need to walk past a cafe and a restaurant I really like to get out of our office complex--just to get to my car--so i rarely go far. I'm at least trying to eat there instead of coming back to my desk. Buying fish helps.

Last night the neuro on call went WAY above and beyond the call to handle both me and my medication. Talking me back into the hospital after a nurse had reached out to security to tell them I was "combative" was no mean feat.

I told his boss to thank him again for me. He made everything happen. And used words like respect and dignity, with the craxxy POV that patients warranted both.

They're gonna order one more round of meds (that was weird for a moment, when they discontinued all the meds except for Pepcid) and then send me home. Please pharmacy, hurry up.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Finally caught up. And will probably fall behind pronto. All this move crap is sucking up time and energy like a mofo.

Just wanted to add my condolences to Consuela and my dismay that you had to wait so long for a resolution with the hospice.

And now to probably go gray again.
