Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am agog at the lack of communication the people right in front of me won't admit to.

Still have a headache!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh mac. But yay for having a McPhee.

I'm having A Week. I'd love to tell you all about it, but I'm sitting here crying and thinking "I cannot do one more day at work." It's not good.

The twins' last day of kindergarten was today. Grace was absent for 20 days this year which feels like a parenting fail because that is 10% of the school year. It's especially bad because we are told that it's affecting her progress and we may have to deal with truancy court next year. Fuck you lady. In September Grace couldn't speak and now she has 6+ word utterances. In September she couldn't use scissors and now she happily cuts everything out. In September she couldn't write a single letter of the alphabet and now she writes books about playing sports. I'm sure her progress is as fine as it can be given that she has surgery every 10 weeks and had pneumonia for which she was hospitalized.

Also, to keep it in perspective. Three years ago, when Grace came home, she couldn't walk yet.

Noah was absent for 2 days.

For both ita and Kat: What is wrong with people?!

Kat, that is remarkable progress.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Kat, that is remarkable progress.

Seriously.

Oh Kat, much love and wishes for ease to you.

And bless you for creating the sort of life that built the platform for Grace's incredible strides. She's worked hard, sure, but YOU made it possible.

Take those stats to truancy court (god forbid) and flip that lady the virtual bird. Screw her.

Fuck you lady.

This. This, so much. I almost want you to have to go to truancy court (but for the time and bullshit) to be able to tell them FUCK YOU. Grace's progress has been amazing. I remember her reluctantly-kinda-walking and then her racing around the yard, on occasion almost run down by Noah on the trike. And how she picked herself back up and gestured angrily (she wasn't talking much yet) such that if she knew 'fuck you.' that's what that gesture meant.

...More importantly, I remember when she wasn't home.
