Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Make sure to ask him if they are space pants.... because his ass is out of this world!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

And no, when it comes to breeding, nurture is definitely not stronger than nature. I am not an alarmist, and I know some sweet pits, but just remember how often you've read the stories about the child or person who was mauled where the owner says, "the dog was always so gentle. We can't believe this happened!"

Yeah, my cousin had a sweet, affectionate rottweiler that had been raised with love and well-trained, but would snap if startled. She once had to use a fallen limb to keep the dog from killing another family pet that triggered her chase instinct. And at my best friend's wedding I had to restrain his German shepherd from attacking the bride's little brother. Just because a dog is gentle and loving with people it considers family doesn't mean it'll behave the same way toward strangers.

Boo on ita's parents not communicating.

Loki is sleeping on my mac's power converter thing. I get it in winter, but a source of warmth really isn't indicated right now...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think we're at "Oh, that's not so bad, right?" Which is pretty much defcon baby bears around our house. Grump.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Puppycat hangs out on my Time Capsule. It has warms. Which is ridiculous given how hot it is here but she loves her some warms.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I came home from stretch class hungry, but I'm bored of the food we have here (at least the food that I can eat right now). Growing up, one of my favorite breakfasts was baked eggs, but it always seemed like such a bother as you have to put the eggs in a bath in the oven. But then I realized--the microwave can do it! So I just nommed down a baked egg with parm on top and ye gads was it good!

the end

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I don't think I've ever had baked eggs but now I want to.

Though expect it would be sort of like poached but harder?

They are silkier than poached eggs because you cook them with a bit of fat. Have you ever had shirred eggs? They are like that. In fact, they may be two names for the same thing.

I took a small glass bowl and smeared a good bit of butter on the bottom, then cracked the egg (and put a knife in the yolk since it was going in the micro), added a touch of salt and some parm. And then I cooked it on 50% power for about a minute. So easy!

I have some silicone ramekins that I got to make unmolded creme brulees. And they were good. But unexpected bonus is that rock at microwaved poached/baked eggs. I've even sometimes separated the yolks and cooked the whites alone for a quarter of the time to ensure the perfect cooked white and just past warmed yolks that I like. Fussier but still pretty simple. And me and the microwave are friends in summer. My oven isn't going back on for a while. Microwave, stovetop, toaster oven or precooked.
