Wash: Captain, didn't you know kissin' girls makes you sleepy? Mal: Well sometimes I just can't help myself.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Maybe it's the humidity? I walked two miles this morning and was wringing sweat an hour later even after a shower. (Also, my glasses fogged up the instant I stepped out of the car as if I were in a cartoon.)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Congrats, Sox's DH!

I would love to do one of those tests on the Biscuit, but seeing as how we just got a (donated, bless them) $500+ vet bill for dentistry, not happening. But the dog is happy and healthy with clean teeth at almost eleven, so it's all good.

I think we'll do that on our new barely-a-puppy-now dog Gunnar. He's a real mystery even though he looks most like a Great Dane.

I question your decision to describe to us an almost-certainly adorable barely-a-puppy without providing photograhpic evidence. I think we're owed that much.

Well, these are out of date, but he's awfully cute in these.

He's about 65-70 lbs now, and think that's pretty much as big as he'll get.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I support and endorse brenda's outrage and am thankful for the response.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Today is Harvard graduation, and it's going to be 90s and sunny. I feel bad for the people who will be sitting outside for hours in black gowns.

When I lived in Boston, I remember walking by Harvard's Graduation ceremony (which was outdoors) and hearing a familiar voice. And I turned around and Jim Hensons was up at the podium with Kermit the Frog doing the graduation speech.

Always Anti-fascist!

Aw! Not that I went to my graduation. But I would have gone to that one.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Seeing Gunnar playing with your other dogs makes me want to get another dog for Charlie.

Of course, looking at linoleum makes me want to get another dog, but I am not quite that insane yet. (Charlie needs more time to get used to not being mistreated, for one thing)

Aww.

I just came across a funny email exchange with my brother in 2006 when i asked him how his Podunk university got Colbert as their graduation speaker:

Podesto.... Knox Alum... apparently really did make a call to make it happen.... also did so last year to get Illinois' junior senator.... big name, you obviously know but I am too tired to come up with that one...I want to say Obame or something....
