I had a mammogram last Friday, they said they'd get word to me by mid-week. If a minion of Cthulhu was lurking in my left tit, they'd let me know quickly, right?

Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Granted, this was a choice for me, and the two were/are actually complimentary. Well, one helps with the other. And while still a choice, kind of one that was taking on more urgency.
Put it this way: I'd rather go to the dentist than haggle, do financial paperwork, spend lots of $ or make financial choices with long term implications. Even crownwork.
May I suggest squirtguns? Hey, they work for misbehaving cats...
They only work on misbehaving cats when used by people who understand the nature of operant condition and are able to consistently put a behavior program in to practice.
Y'all have no idea how damn close to saying "able to implement a behavior program". I hate that bit of jargon as much as I hate the use of "impact" as a verb in other than a dental setting.
Have any of you guys been to glassdoor.com? I hit it on a product search for work, and realised it's kind of a yelp for your job, amongst other things. I was reading the opinions of people who'd worked for a competitor, and decided to read about my company, and it was depressingly negative--I know people are more likely to bitch than laud, but I'd just come off a page that seemed to be mainly positive.
I can see where they were coming from on a couple, but pissed about some others. I guess that's a good sign, though, that I feel defensive about *us*.
In trying to find glassdoor again (on my home laptop, which is infinitely more sensible...) I stumbled upon glassdog.com, which I need to go back and finish reading. Homeslice has some points.
I had never seen glassdoor.com before, but the ratings for my workplace line up pretty damn (depressingly) well with my experiences and those of my co-workers.
Sara, hope that didn't come across as a "you shouldn't have done that!" Re-fi id different than the initial house buy, in terms of lots of things, as you know. And your new car was a necessity - mine wasn't. I still have my old car! I think I'm going to try and turn my new Forester in for something better tailored to my commute, but I love it so much that I continue to waffle.
Hey, the orb is out today! It's been cold and dreary this week; sure glad the pools are opening this weekend!
IOAnnoyingN, the rash I had is back. But nowhere near as bad as it was the last time. It's mostly on my neck, now, and, while irritating, is not as bad as the horrible neck AND legs AND girly parts annihilation that occurred last time. Going to the doc in an hour to get more drugs (prednisone worked last time) although this time, it feels like I have a UTI to go along with it.
Ah, well. Last Memorial Day, I broke my arm and slept on it, then drove 75 miles like a BOSS on it. I can handle a rash.
Must finish coffee and hop in the shower here in a few.
I'd rather go to the dentist than haggle, do financial paperwork, spend lots of $ or make financial choices with long term implications.
At least the dentist gives you anesthesia.
You might want to check with them if you don't hear anything by Tuesday, Connie. Sometimes they just screw up.
I just spent three hours trying to install a router on my neighbor's computer. Note the trying part.
Sara, hope that didn't come across as a "you shouldn't have done that!"
Oh, no, not at all. Just mocking myself. I tend to , well, snowball isn't the word. But gather up a lot of things that for me are drama-riffic and then dothemallatonceinacrazeddementedfrenzy. And am generally a mess.
I'm signed up for Glassdoor, but it's never been particularly useful to me. They will occasionally send me job listings for positions completely unrelated to my field or skillset. (Which is admittedly my fault for having a title which exists in every industry but doesn't ever describe the same job twice.)
