And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My friends' dog got a bad cut on her face recently, and they kept saying "she ran into the lawn mower," BUT the lawn mower was not on at the time! And the dog tripped or something. So it's not good, but not the immediate image that sentence gives you.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sad (obviously), but also feel oddly relieved now that the worst is over and I no longer have to watch him deteriorating. I did get a bit weepy when I came home today and my little buddy wasn't waiting for me at the door.

Yup, and yup. I feel you on both counts. I'm still pulling cat hairs out of sweaters, which is a little creepily sentimental for me.

Zip car sold their territory in my area to enterprise on the same day I got a zipcar card. Welp. Okthen.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Oh, and another dead bunny on the carpet. This time she ate the forelegs as well as teh brainz. I think she's unhappy that I chucked the other one into the bushes. That or she really is a zombie that's developing an apetite for more than just gray matter.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Juliebird, this is crazy-detail-oriented, compulsive boss lady, right? Talk about karma biting one in the assfinger!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Huh. An entire search engine for animated GIFs.

Theodosia, yup, same gal, and that is so wrong but so true! If she hadn't felt the need for perfection in the eyes of everyone and just read a book while waiting for the contractors instead, I'd actually have a partner at working helping me out. Now it's pre-gala for the third time and I'm going to be shouldering her duties as well now.

Old boss texted me wanting to volunteer next week. Except the way he phrased it was "are you in town next Tues? Want to get together late in the day and touch some plants?"

Our wings are not tired.

Julie, could I ask a favor please? Do you mind whitefonting details on the "gifts" your pet is bringing you? I can't deal, which I know means I'm ultra-sensitive, but I'd so appreciate it. Thank you!

Anne, I am so sorry about Jeeves. I can't believe all of the cherished pets who've not made it through this Spring, both on the board and in my off-line life. It's so, so hard.

I will do my best to buoy the spirits of Ms. Consuela this weekend!

Not a problem, javachik. Sorry for the squick!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

The doctors are delaying surgery for whatever reason, and have forbid her from going into work where all the dirt is.

I know this one! Lawn mower injuries are very, very dirty injuries. When I injured my foot the docs planned 3 surgeries - 2 to clean the wounds and 1 to stitch me up. I lucked out in that I was healing up well enough that they decided to stitch me up in the 2nd surgery. I also had a cocktail of 3 different antibios during my 5 days in the hospital.
