Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I look like I cut; my thigh is cross-hatched with tiny scars from Cosmo loving me with her hooked claws of doom.

Yes, I cut them. They grow overnight, like mushrooms.

Luckily, I can usually keep these talons in check. But my hands bear many a scar from my bitey, flip-turn-mood Devi.

Anne, I'm sorry.

I have some indeterminate number of more days of school. I think perhaps 11 or less? I dunno.

Grace's OT is leaving. We may not see her again because the last week I promised to take Grace to the Lego Store for the mini model build. Ooops. I think I'll work on trying to arrange it to make it work.

The PT who did an eval on Grace talked to me and pulled the You're A Bad Mom Card because she hasn't been in PT for two years. And because maybe she has scoliosis, even though I'm 100% certain her femur is shorter. And she has lots of quirks and weakness. HELLO. She has cerebral palsy, of course she does. Frankly, there are only so many days and what I really care about (becoming no longer trach dependent, speaking and eating) are higher on my concerns and needs. Same reason she hasn't had eye surgery.

Sigh.

I sometimes wish that things were different.

The PT is full of bullshit, but you know that.

Grace us amazing.

Grace is amazing. But scoliosis would suck.

So sorry, Anne.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

You're a great mom, Kat, you're just overwhelmed.

Today, I left work at 1 to take Grace to the orthotist to have her fitted for a new brace, which is like her old brace two iterations but hinged and larger. Then I knew she had OT at 5:00. So I thought, oh! I have time to waste. So we went to the bookstore and I bought a Jane Austen teacher. I forgot that during that time period, I was supposed to take her to have x-rays on her back and hips as requested by the PT.

The PT also told me Grace needs to see an orthopedist. I didn't think of it at the time, but she does. In fact the only way we are able to get Grace into PT is by having the orthopedist refer her. Granted, he's not a great orthopedist but he's what we got.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Scoliosis would suck. My niece (who I cannot believe is almost 13) just had surgery last week to correct a 65 degree curve. (When it's that bad, a brace won't do squat.)

Grace is awesome, though, in all senses of the word.
