I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Does a lack of carbs leave you with brain fog? For the first three days I was fine, but today I just can't wake up.

I understand that he brain runs on glucose, so yeah, it makes sense that low carb could do that. I've read some forums that refer to it as "low carb flu," with brain fog and other symptoms.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I know it's different for everyone, but low-carbing made me fuzzy-headed and punchy. It felt very similar to being on Prednisone. (Which is why I decided that diet was not for me, and went and ate some pasta.)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Oh, did I mention I am ALSO trying to looking into refi my mortgage?

I don't know why I don't just start throwing myself off the deck repeatedly. That would be more fun.

We're looking into refinancing the house and buying a car. And planning a wedding. And I may not have a job in a month.

I'm waiting for the meteor to land on my head.

At least that is statistically unlikely?

I've got neverending PMS, which means I'm doing this with no coping skills whatsoever. OTOH, I've already had the dealer with the lowest price contact me, so if I need to keep the ball rolling....

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We just saw a turtle hauling ass down our street. Not a small turtle, either. Moving at a pretty good clip. Possibly he was trying to catch the hare.

I had coping skills for the wedding planning (which isn't done), and then the get-a-car plan (which hasn't happened yet), and even for the prospect of refinancing (which scares the crap out of me). But the job bullshit pretty much blew all my coping in one shot. I'm just a mix of caffeine and Xanax right now.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Not that this is what you want to hear, but if you can it's probably best to get the car and refi locked down while the job thing is still nebulous.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Tep, it's a shitload to handle all at once. I don't doubt that you will, but I know it's gotta be anxious-making.

Oh yeah. Our timeline just jumped ahead big time.
