Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just got invited to Fight Club. Or at least, I got a confidentiality notice for something I don't know anything about and not only the details but the fact of the project's existence is top secret.

Shit! I could have called our NDA group that too. But getting people to call it the League of Shadows/Shadow Board felt like a bit of a geek win.

Next time...

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

HFCS linked to global diabetes.

“The study adds to a growing body of scientific literature that indicates HFCS consumption may result in negative health consequences distinct from and more deleterious than natural sugar.”

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I read somewhere that wild animals will eat cigarettes because the nicotine kills intestinal worms. Not sure if this is fact.

My guess would be animals eat nicotine for the same reason humans do, because it's addictive.

HFCS linked to global diabetes.

Marion Nestle has some problems with the way this study is being reported:

The authors obtained information about diabetes and obesity prevalence and HFCS and other dietary factors in the food supply from existing sources of data, all of them questionable. The data do not distinguish between type 1 and type 2 diabetes, for example, and the two different sources of data on diabetes prevalence give different results.

Inconsistencies abound. For example, Mexico has more diabetes than does the U.S., but rather low HFCS availability (Mexicans prefer sucrose in their sodas). Some countries with high diabetes rates report no HFCS availability at all.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm sure there are Tea Party deer out there who tell everyone they eat tobacco to treat intestinal worms while complaining about all those poor and minority deer who eat tobacco just to get high.

(Don't ask me what a minority deer is.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Right! I think maybe I thought they should've saved Banderas for Marius. Leo might have been about right for Armand at the time. It's been so long since I've visited the books or the movie my memory is fuzzy.

He could have pulled off a Marius with a non-Celt background. I'd have accepted that. I mean, Anne Rice changes narrators and then facts with each book. But Armand is a sullen, religiously bonkers teenager. With auburn hair. But mostly immortal petulant teen.

now two of our presenters have admitted to having an affair with each other and are banned from appearing onscreen together.

Really? I mean we're that invested in other people's morality that they can't be on tv together?

Which warrants a big old "Really, humanity? REALLY?"

Oh. Right.

I want to give humanity the benefit of the doubt but it does always let me down.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The vacation is to Disney, so I should have included that $150/day is park tickets. Airfare is $615 RT per person so that averages to another $100/day. I guess that means hotel and food are $450/day.

When they're news presenters working for a publically funded organization in which the public has (rightfully) lost a HUGE amount of trust lately....yeah. At least until they've both divorced the spouses they're cheating on, they don't get to work together right now.

It looks like the tabloids in the UK are having a feeding frenzy on this.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is that staying in the park, msbelle? I would imagine those hotels would be way more expensive than outside, but would also mean you wouldn't need to rent a car, right? Many factors!!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I know tobacco is used as a pesticide. Doesn't seem like a reach that native animals would chew a native leaf medicinally.
